20ten was a huge disappointment after the amazing Lotusflow3r but there's a few good songs on the album like Sticky Like Glue, Walk in sand and Sea of everything. Welcome 2 The Dawn

lustmealways said: it's fine. i think the back half is pretty damn weak... but sticky like glue and future soul song make up for the rest's shortcomings I agree. I love Sticky Like Glue. No More Haters on the Internet.

Was Prince even interested in this? There's been only two Prince albums where I've never heard all the songs all the way through. I just couldn't muster the interest. These are 20ten (formulaic Prince) and Hit N Run V.1 (not even like Prince). I 'spose he couldn't win!

His absolute nadir. I was embarrassed this was given for free as it meant people didn’t have to pay a penny to hear how awful my favourite artist had become. Yes, the anomaly Future Soul Song is a hands down masterpiece, but the rest is stuff we wouldn’t even have given to Carmen Electra 20 years earlier. 2009/2010 are a stain on his musical legacy (imho).

I love Future Soul Song, I like Walk in Sand and Sticky Like Glue minus the rap part. Laydown is ok, too, a bit reminiscent of Days of Wild but the rest of the album is not my cup of tea. I find Everybody Loves Me almost unlistenable. That´s still three or four songs I really like, and I think those couple of songs mixed with some of the songs on MPLSound would make a good album. Add to that some of the better songs on Lotusflower and you´d have a great double album. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Future Soul Song sounded great live... I want the expanded songs on the 2010 album Prince was supposed to release... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I haven't listened in a while, but I'm gonna say I've never liked Compassion (possibly his worst opening track on a vocal album), and I'm not wild about Act of God or Sticky Like Glue (made worse by my having an annoying habit of the phrase "Sticky, sticky like glue" popping into my head and occasionally out of my mouth at inopportune moments), but everything else is somewhere in at least the like range, with Beginning Endlessly and Walk In Sand probably at the top as far as the album goes. Maybe not, as I haven't listened in a while, and the differences in quality aren't really extreme in my opinion. Nothing is top-tier for career as a whole, but most is pretty good.

Except for that horrible shit hop sellout track "Laydown", it's a decent album for one of his 2000s albums. "Lavaux" is the best thing I had heard from him in ages. The synths and falsetto on that track felt a little like the "Old Prince". . It was a groundbreaking album for me though. The fact that it wasn't available here in the United States, it was the first time that I had to rely on a download and not have a physical copy so that broke up the consistency of having every single physical release in my collection. When I heard "Fart Official Age" and how horrible it sounded, I had no desire to buy it and I actually didn't buy any more of them until "Purple Rain" Deluxe. Andy is a four letter word.

I think this is the one that was in the UK paper. They were selling the newspaper with CD somewhere at that time. That's how I got mine.

20Ten is SOTT compared to the atrocities that he released after. Formerly TheDigitalGardener etc.

AOA was much better than this

In Courrier International, the newspaper in which it was sold in France, it is said that this is his best album since Lovesymbol

I think the Mirror or someone said it was his best since SOTT lol [Edited 2/2/21 3:27am]

I've always loved that album mostly because of the middle tracks: Sticky Like Glue, Act Of God and Laveaux. Those are a great "triple threat". I don't know if Prince had an agenda with this album (it was unorthodoxically released after all) but I seem to love the albums that had an agenda like TRC or TGE. Or it was just a collection of songs he just wanted to put out this way. Either way, I think 20Ten is a tight little album.

I like the record. I wish it had gotten a proper release at the time. Once I was finally able to track it down I thought it was pretty great. The second half is less-than-amazing, but it's got some things I consider classics on the first half.

When the extended version dropped as a d/l on the 3rdeyegirl website, it was like getting a new 12" single back in the 80's "Whatever skin we're in

Kind of a bore. It was mellow in a Paul Anka covering Nirvana Smells Like teen spirit way. I do like a few tracks. Favorite by far has always been sticky like glue. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
