Lovesexy has always been loved by me. I didn't get to that album until I was in highschool around 2010. I can understand the mixed bag reaction for those who experienced it in real time. IMO it works as a singular experience and should be listened to as a whole. Individually the tracks are strong but I wouldn't have minded a couple more Black Album tracks (Superfunky, Rockhard/LeGrind) to be thrown in there to shake shit up.

It's a fantastic record, but not his last and honestly I think we can retire the '79-88 golden years agenda. He made great records post-Lovesexy. While his consistency wavered - especially in the 90's - he was still an ever changing artist and I just don't see the point in harping on this point.

Again, I was not there to experience his 80's/90's heyday, the only real time Prince fandom that I was old enough to be immersed in was the mid-late 2000's. I just saw each project as another piece to the puzzle.

Princes heyday wasn't the 90s. It was the 80s and second of all his best stuff will always be that 80-87 period.

Lovesexy has been the only Prince album that reached the top of the Italian chart, so yeah, from the beginning, I guess...

It's not a misuse really. Unless you're here under a new name, but were here previously, you've only been here for a short time. You consider everything after the 80's "abysmal," which would make many wonder why you're here at all. Then you sorta cast a line out in a thread like this one, and while people comment about how much they love this or that, you consider it trash if it was after his so-called "Golden Era."

So, don't get bent if people question your intentions. You clearly aren't here to have a dialogue about Prince, the musician as a whole, if you've discarded everything he did post-Sign o' the Times as subpar and not worth the time. With that already out in the ether, why would you want to know what people think of post-SOTT stuff when you've already made it clear what YOU think of post-SOTT stuff?

Smells a little troll-like to the people that have been here a bit.

Everything did suck after the 80s. Get over it. Also so what if I've been here for a short amount of time lol. Get over it [Edited 1/29/21 12:16pm]

Oh, I was never under it. I'm not the one people are calling a troll. I was just explaining why someone would call you a troll. How long you've been around contributes to being called a troll. If you display troll-like tendencies, as you're doing on this thread, it's just a natural deduction that one would just assume you are a troll.
