I am shocked 1999 did not win, but then again, the Grammy’s have never been kind to PRINCE.

Why won’t they recognise a man who influenced generations of musicians and music ???

The category was Best Historical Album, which is awarded to recognise the work of those responsible for audio restoration - rather than the work of an original artist. As the album nominated was 1999 Super Deluxe Edition and the award goes to compilation producers, mastering engineers and restoration engineers. Prince would not have received a posthumous award (and nor did 'Mister Rogers', or any of the other musicians for the winning album).
