. If they did they would not want to learn from those. That would be like admitting their faults. They know they are unprofessional, amateurs and that there's better product out there. They know they are not at peak profit maximization. They know their markets, or so they think. They think they can do it all, but that is not good enough. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Would still love to have All My Dreams on CD, could it potentially be a part of a future Prince package, I guess a Parade SD would be the best prospect? What would it chamge. ? You wouldn't buy it anyway. And why would they release it again? People here would get mad and open numerous useless threads about how the estate are naughty people.

The price for the SOTT SDE was more than fair for all of the music it contained. That being said, I hated that the discs weren't in jewel cases or digipacks.

if it's the welcome 2 america album instead of a live w2a show as i'd previously heard, that would be so so so so so much better. always wanted to hear that record, everything we have of it kicks ass.

If they did, they probably left seeing the ridiculous comments such as people so upset over the packaging size of SOTT SDE lol

+1 in favour of releasing the Welcome 2 America album. You could see a CD-R of it in a few pics from Piaisley Park, so it was definitely a thing for Prince.
They could package it with a live DVD from the Welcome 2 America tour.
Songs slated for the album: Welcome 2 America, Yes, Dance 2 the Higher, The Record, Black Muse, 1000 Light Years From Here, Son of a Slave, Cause & Effect, When She Comes, Same Page Different Book, Born 2 Die, Stand Up & B Strong.
Sounds great to me. | |

Prince performed Welcome 2 America and Black Muse at the beginning of that tour... That version of Welcome 2 America, as I recall, was mostly spoken word backed by instrumentation... It sounded like it might have been the intro to a longer song. Prince used it to open one of the shows in New Jersey. it's more or less the same tracks, plus "Yes" and "Dance 2 the Higher" were 2 titleson the same master as the track "Welcome 2 America" (photos from PP), so we could assume they might be part of the album, although that's just a guess.

The release of "Welcome 2 America" (studio album) would be an awesome surprise

Morris Hayes produced the Welcome 2 America album, so he should know more about the album and sessions in general. I'm guessing Morris would've worked on all the material Prince considered for the project.

Why would anyone release the welcome to America album when a good portion of it has already been released? These unreleased albums will not be released. You can just hope the songs will be issued at some point, but honestly, prince wasnt exactly hitting it out the park in his last decade and there is much less of a market for that era.

. Same reason as the Piano & Microphone 1983 release. The old collectors already had that. The 'experts' thought it was a brilliant move. (they thought there was nothing better to choose....) +2.
Stand Up & B Strong is a cover from a Soul Asylum's song (Stand Up And Be Strong, from their The Silver Lining Album); if I don't remember wrong, their band leader Dave Pirner told to the press that he played a couple of session of the track with Prince himself.

I’m new to the forum, and probably ignorant of lots of things. But isn’t there a risk of getting ahead of ourselves here? 1999 and SOTT are in most charts of 20th century all time great albums (as is PR). That just isn’t the case for other Prince albums however much we love them. Not even Parade is in that league. So, can we be sure it makes conmercial sense to invest in SDE’s for any or several other albums? I love D&P, it was the first Prince album I bought, and probably ranks among my 10 favourites (Parade is definitely there). So I do hope the more optimistic takes on here turn out to be correct, but perhaps they aren’t?

. No. Michael 'I love my NDA' Howe will not divulge the overhead cost involved in an average SDE release even is he knew. We, on the other hand, can speculate about the fans that love Parade era materials. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

It would be hard to believe that PR, 1999, and SOTT are the only albums worthy of an SDE given the performance of other era specific SDEs by other artists. No there's probably not going to be an SDE for Rainbow Children but his seminal works, no matter how they fare on someone's list, make $en$e. Selling an album of outtakes from 1985 will not do better than an SDE. This can be assured. Take a look at the sales performance of Originals vs the performance and fanfare around 1999 and SOTT.
