The re-recording he did with John Blackwell, Renato, etc... I actually prefer this version over the original!!! Sacrilege??? [Edited 1/24/21 8:47am]
While I prefer the original, the re-recorded version is very good too. Especially the extended outro and the dreamy keys. Takes the song to a whole new universe. "I like to watch." |

I think it's better in a lot of ways. The performances, the mix/sound, the arrangement, and just the band in general. The only thing that keeps it from being better in my eyes is the missing second verse. "Welcome 2 the rat race. Oh...oh, oh, oh," is kinda my favorite part.
"That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide." |

It's funny. I mean, considering how that was the "bootleg" title for the track sometimes, it's funny that when the song got released, he'd gotten rid of the line (and the "swap"/"swallow" one as well). I'm gonna side with the original (in part because it has a second verse)--but unlike most of the time he turned things over to Renato... I liked what happened with the remake, too.
