What songs were written soon after Ahmir passed away I was listening to Tangerine & wondered if it was a lament about missing Mayte. I’ve heard Comeback was about Ahmir (Amire?). So what was written during that time? We’ve heard Mayte’s experience could we glean a bit of his through those songs. Based on reading her book in which she says she believes Prince did not commit any physical cheating. She went to Spain to buy that house & settle in. The plan is they would take a season of retreat out there to regroup. In the meantime Manuela was willing to participate in those bible studies with Larry Graham. Probably initially everything was innocent, but as time went on Manuela was a distraction from loosing the baby ( like maybe was she fun & they became friends. Remember this is just opinion & I’m speculating). Mayte admitted she wasn’t going along with the Jehovas Witness thing. This is how he was dealing with things & one woman was willing to go along with it while the other wouldn’t. What I won’t do is speculate what Prince or Mayte coulda, shoulda or woulda done different. I say all that because nobody nowhere that I’ve ever read has suggested Mayte cheated. It’s very likely Prince kept his hands above the clothes until he decided he was gonna seek an annulment. Again let me reiterate my purpose of the post was what songs did he write in those 6 months after his son died? Is there anything in there where he’s talking it out? Interesting thoughts about Manuela providing distraction, fun and a wiling JW partner. IMO, Mayte cheated after it was clear Prince was having a sexual dalliance w/ Mani. [Edited 1/15/21 15:28pm] | |
