1. The Rainbow Children (stands up in any era)
2. Lotusflower (a few songs shy of being Top Tier)
3. One Nite Alone
4. N.E.W.S
5. Musicology
6. 3121 (had it been as consistently brilliant as the title track and The Word, this would place much higher)
7. Xpectation
8. C-Note
9. Planet Earth (some decent songs but the epitome of light weight)
10. The Slaughterhouse (despite the great nasty feel to some of this)
11. The Chocolate Invasion
12. MPLSound (though I'm a sucker for the sentimentality of 'Here', and the occasional guitar inflections are exciting - thinking tracks like Valentina, No More Candy 4 U)

Tier 1 (all amazing):

1.) The Rainbow Children
2.) Lotusflow3r
3.) 3121

After this there is a huge drop off to Tier 2:

4.) The Slaugtherhouse
5.) The Chocoloate Invasion
6.) MPLSound
7.) Musicology
8.) Planet Earch
9.) One Nite Alone . . . Live!
10.) One Nite Alone

Tier 3 (I'm sure these have merit, but not the type of stuff I personally listen to):

11.) Xpectation
12.) N.E.W.S.
13.) C-Note

There are songs scattered throughout the decade that I enjoy listening to. But none of these albums are worthy of a start to finish listen. You can argue Rainbow Children, N.E.W.S. or C-Note. But that is a stretch. Pretty underwhelming decade, ranking them is not even fun.

Then even further down

01 - The Rainbow Children

02 - Lotusflower
03 - 3121
04 - One Nite Alone (solo piano and vocal)
05 - The Chocolate Invasion
06 - MPLSOUND
07 - The Slaughterhouse
08 - Planet Earth
09 - Musicology

I also rate the instrumental albums very highly NEWS/EXPECTATION/CNOTE but I find it almost impossible to rank them amongst the albums with vocals, it's like 2 different worlds.

Man, Princes music decline was heartbreaking. He went from being the king of music throughout the 80s into a joke throughout the 90s and 00s. No classic albums.

Any 90s and 00s Prince album isn't classic.

His classics dates back to his prime the 80s

I would add Artifical Age as average from a Prince quality standard.

Not from the same decade.
Would you Put The Gold Experience in the 80's?
