IRS wants more taxes paid & Estate sues Roc Nation

IRS reportedly wants $32 million in taxes from Prince's estate. Meanwhile/also, the Estate is suing Roc Nation over Tidal continuing to use Prince’s music.
As at: https://i.stuff.co.nz/ent...ces-estate
- I don't proof read. Dael with it.

Whilst I don't have any exact figures, it would be a pretty good deal if it was $1-2 Million, the most expensive Documentary on Netflix to date is rumoured to be about $10 Million although that is unconfirmed. Sadly, this will mean a great deal more money and time being spent on lawyers sending each other letters.

I keep seeing these exorbitant Netflix deals...I would b shocked if it was that low (1-2 mill). And isnt it supposed to be 6 episodes?

Why the fuck does this article bring up the FOUR YEAR OLD lawsuit vs Roc Nation?

Not really sure, I imagine it's just another example of where the Estate's money is going, largely to lawyers.

It would certainly be nice, but the costs of a documentary are usually fairly low with interviewees being paid relatively small amounts.

The actual value when Prince died was probably much less than it is now, given how things had somewhat deteriorated at that point. It’s probably only through the hard work afterwards of getting out product like the 1999 & SOTT Deluxes (albeit it could be a whole lot better) that has enhanced the value. I reckon the estate’s lawyers should point this out quite strongly, if not done already, that Prince was worth very little at the time he passed, e.g. he didn’t want to be on Spotify, etc, so that income resource wasn’t real at that point. To be honest if I was in charge of America, I’d be waiving this tax bill and ensuring it was put to good use fixing Paisley Park as a free to attend museum and ensuring Prince’s legacy was saved and accessible for generations to come. Unfortunately, capitalism doesn’t take that approach.
There may or may not be something coming!

The Estate will make tons of $$$ in the future...a biographical movie, Broadway, Vegas, etc. are all cash cows. Bohemian Rhapsody movie (not comparing to Prince's potential audience) grossed almost $1 Billion. Unfortunately, the next 5 years the Estate will be bled dry.

But isn't part of this IRS thing because the estate purposely underestimated the worth of the estate by almost 50%?? They deflated the value to avoid paying more. Now it's caught up w/ them, it seems.
