I cannot seem to pick up what he is saying between 4:30 and 4:50 of the song - I distinctly hear "wake up" at the beginning and then he goes on to say "wake up!" a lot after 4:50 - but he mumbles a few things in between. No lyric sites list anything but he is definitely saying something. Has anyone pulled the vocal track out to hear what he is saying? This has bugged me for a long time...thanks.

But seriously, it's an unused portion from "Hey Hannigan" which had a few remixes on Swell Tree Lens.

He does say Wake Up Wake Up at the end but like Delirious says he is mumbling some other things between 4:30 to 4:50. Some people can really decipher lyrics like exceptional hearing! Can anybody hrere do that?

Hmm - this is definitely strange if this is what he is saying...I need to figure out a way to isolate the vocal track...I know a bit obsessive but this is literally one of my all time favorite Prince songs with a lot of messages and would just love to know exactly what is said here....

Right before the last solo, he starts with, "Ahh, had one eye open for these devils..."

No joke, that is what he says.

I'm all in with this song!

...THE PRINCE SCREAM,

then a little incoherent for a moment and then, "this ain't the real life (2x) you must be jaded (?), wake up, wake up (2x)"

Then, right before the end, "...pledge allegiance to..."

Thanks..the mystery continues...so now someone on YouTube says that he is saying "separtists" at 2:14 - some lyric sites say "what's up with this" but now when I listen I cannot tell. I swear every time I listen to this song I pick up something new.

So in the 4:30 - 4:50 stretch I tried again to listen closely...around 4:42 sounds like something close to "since you feel like....since you feel like" and then and then 4:46 "you must be jaded"?

Hard to be certain....this one is tough! Thanks to those who have posted - let us know if you hear anything more definitive - or maybe he mumbled something simlar in a live performance...would be interested to know...

Boom is weird for sure...but whetever he is saying in this space in Dreamer...whether nonsensical or not...seems to be a mystery
