Possible audio blunder in "Erotic City" on the 2017 reissue of the LGC 12inch?

From elsewhere:

.

I've seen no other mention of this on the internet, but my 2017 NPG records repressing of the "Let's Go Crazy" 12inch has an audio messup. The last couple fadeout seconds of "Erotic City" are interrupted by the first note of Zapp's "Dance Floor". Anybody else's copy have this? I'm perplexed how this happened.

.

They also posted a short video which proves this.

.

I presume it is this release: https://www.discogs.com/P...e/10486738

.

Must have been sourced from this CD (!), which contains the two tracks back-to-back.

There's no video for the long version of Erotic City on that page. But interesting.

IIRC these errors have been around since the 2007 reissue, it's still the version that appears on streaming if you go to the Let's Go Crazy single release (i.e. NOT the 2017 remaster). I've always wondered what the deal was with those additional sounds, that Dope Brothers release seems the likely culprit.

I guess you nailed it.
The version put on iTunes in 2007 also had a mash-up problem at the beginning. But I think it comes from yet another compilation.

The version I bought on iTunes (pre-PR SDE) had this note on the end as well. Jarring as hell.

hiya databank! wave I'm thinking it's from the same compilation, if you listen to the end of the song AMIGOS sourced here: https://www.youtube.com/w...tQ6OX5aNpk

That sounds like the noise at the beginning of EROTIC CITY, as for the end, it's definately from ZAPP and the DANCE FLOOR song.
Is this the lazy way to release stuff for streaming? I'm hoping that would never make it's way like that on vinyl fro

The itunes version is the same as the streaming version. These were Rhino Records reissues originally IIRC? Rhino are usually a lot better at quality control, I wonder what happened.

Oh god, yes, that is the same as on the 12". What a massive fail.
