Anyone else obsessed with "Love Theme from Purple Rain"? Discovered this a few weeks ago.This isn't the music that's playing during the love scene but some of the music is used in the scene when apollonia sneaks in prince's window and wakes him up to give him a guitar. They should officially release all 3 music scores to his films.I think they are that good The instrumental is very good. | |

. This instrumental composition is called “God”. Very beautiful track indeed. It is officially available as b-side. And the good thing is... there is a vocal version as well, which was also released as a b-side! . |

I believe Phase3 is talking about Michel Colombier's composition "Love Theme" from Purple Rain. A version of it was played during the scene when Apollonia gifts The Kid a new guitar.
There's also this version which I strongly believe would've accompanied the second love scene in the barn:

I was stoked to hear the instrumental on the 12". But somehow, the drum fills toward the 2nd half really ruin it for me. He did something similar in the extended "Another Lonely Christmas," and it worked there. That song was reverby, echoey, unusual. But the love theme started as one thing and just went off the rails and crashed. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |
