Great era when it comes to TV appearances and concerts. The 21 nights concerts were amazing and then you had the tv performances like the superbowl and press conference performance The performance at the ALMA awards is one that doesn't get praised too much. They tore that stage up |

I loved the 3121 era. I loved most eras where he was fully engaged in the project. |

The Super Bowl Half Time Show was THEE best ! No one has or ever will surpass the bar Prince raised that night.
The org went mad cray cray on fire .........
Every time another act takes the stage I always compare them to his performance.
Love, love watching the show........... [goes to play it again]
Prince Makes It Rain During His Iconic Super Bowl XLI Halftime Performance.....
The 2007 Super Bowl XLI saw the Indianapolis Colts trump the Chicago Bears 29-17, but perhaps the most victorious entertainment of the evening came from the Purple One himself.
“Can you make it rain harder?” Prince asked the production managers of the halftime event, hours before he was to perform the biggest performance of his career. It was one of those heavy, tropical rain and wind storms in the heart of Miami; but for Prince, it was a dramatic advantage to the pivotal performance that carried in over 100 million television viewers alone.
“I was panicked. Prince was using four separate electric guitars; the stage was made out of a very slick tile, which when it got wet, was even more slippery,” explained one of the production managers. Along with the dancers, their heels, and all other electronic aspects involved, the state of the performance had a lot of reasons to worry.

It was 4 sure!!! I will forever judge every 1/2time by this standard. And most of the time I won't even watch as soon as I see the performers name, knowing that cannot
I love the 1/2 Time Press conference show: Go Go Johnny Go, AnotherLoverHo... and Get On the Boat

Did the blatantly out-of-tune Suoerbowl guitar get retconned from history? Coulda-sworn the org was all over that at the time, but, whatever. |

Isn't 2007 the Planet Earth era? Like, 1984 was Purple Rain even though it didn't hit until spring/summer of '84? [Edited 10/30/20 11:16am] "New Power slide...." |

Planet Earth dropped July 2007 prior to that he was still doing 3121 and 3121 Vegas shows etc
the time periods crossed into years more from the late 90s into the 2000s |

Got it. With Prince it's always a bit off anyways. When he looked like Christopher Tracy in '86, he was making the sounds of 1987 that we would identify as going with the granny glasses, peach/black SOTT aesthetic. "New Power slide...." |

Yep, that was a really good example of how fast stuff was moving. Back then they were definately in a 'purple bubble' that made it so great. I realize some 'era' from 78-87 were over sooner than I might have thought. The projects and music was just flooding out. SOTT technically started March 1987 and was over July 1987 give or take the SOTT movie release and the MTV awards performance. But other than that he was focused on (non Associate music) Graffiti Bridge movie, Black Album |

It was. I was part of an org meet up. One of our group member she was chatting to security......... who then escorted us to the front of the line and into the venue. I was standing in front of all the guitars and the guitar tech slipped me a guitar pic, which I still have. We had to put up with a bunch from HQ site that were pissed we got to the front of the line and were trying to slip sneakily to the front of the stage.

This is a Planet Urf image. This is the outfit he wore on the cover (they color corrected the shirt to red).
