Probably something to do with "God"

being a great lyricist doesnt always equate to being a good rapper/MC...he never mastered the art of "flow" as a rapper...his flow was always dated and/or forced and monotone, and his delivery never conveyed the true essence of hiphop... its ironic that he seemed to finally catch the wave as an older man in 2014, on "U Know"....he KILLT that shit...flow was current and unforced... joints like "Silicon", "My Medallion" and Y Should Eye do That When Eye Can Do This?" are solid attempts but sound like they were released 10-15 years too late...main problem was Prince was about 10 years too old to really relate to hiphop, especially since there was no real hiphop scene in the twin cities until recently...being born in 1958 and growing up in Minneapolis were the main obstacles to P's rapping skills on the mic...but if he had grown up in New York or Philly maybe ten years later, he would have been a masterful MC with his innate rhythm and lyrical wordsmithery [Edited 10/13/20 13:03pm]

Without "reading/listening to" the rest, it hast to be performing. "Whatever skin we're in
we all need 2 b friends" | |

It’s his lyrics. I think Hayes said this in an interview years ago. [Edited 10/13/20 13:56pm] "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

I would have probably guess his Singing or Guitar playing. Which is not what he told Morris. And you are right on your last sentence.

Nope... | |

Nay. The answer is in one of the 15 choices mention in the beginning.

That's It! Or least what Morris said he told him.
When I heard Morris say that it reminded me of the song where he says, "I Have A Flow Slippery Than A Baby Out the Hole"! haha lol

days of wild, why do that when i can do this, whatever - prince just didnt work as a rapper. his main issue, and the problem with fans asking why he didnt do better with it, or how he could have done better with it, is why should he have done it? prince just thought he could do everything, and do it better, but with hip hop, he just should have stood down, and stopped himself. the simple fact is just that no one wants to hear prince rapping. no one. irrestible bitch, yes, but beyond that, no thank you.
its like asking if anyone wants to hear chuck d singing. no they really do not. george clinton found a way of working with rappers. he could do his spoken word type thing. prince never figured out a comfortable way to do it. and 95% of the time, it was cringey. did michael jackon try to rap? no. if prince had tried just once or twice, that would have been forgivable, but he just never stopped! As a non rap fan, Days of Wild is probably my favorite rap song ever. We're here, might as well get into it.

(Don't know much about rap)
Are those 2 considered rap (attempts)?
I love both [Edited 10/13/20 20:33pm]

As a rap fan, I cant really listen to days of wild, now or pussy control I like them musically though Maybe I'll give them another try The thing is that writing rap lyrics is diff to song lyrics You dont need to pay attention to melody, just cadence/rhythm The form of the content is also v diff A good artist knows their strengths and weaknesses, though I accept that many artists maybe most, do not, which is why you have ppl around you to tell you But sSometimes I think prince really did not know what ppl liked about him and it's more important as you get older

You don't like Now, Sexy MF, Gett Off or Dead On It, to name a few??

I think I'm one of the few that, by and large, enjoy Prince's endeavors into rap. At least when it was him and not Tony M doing it. He put his own spin and style on it and usually backed it up with a real band/real music.
