No 2 all the way - dark brilliance.

Version two has grown on me but so it has the first version, they are so different but in a good way.

i understand why version 2 ismore challenging because its only Prince vocal harmonies and linn drum.but i love that sparse stripped sound

its very hard to make a song simple as that cause there aint no instruments to hold your attention.

it reminds me of Atom Fm I Love U Like I love My Drum Machine.

Never been a fan of this song, but version #1 makes it more tolerable.

Now I love both versions although second version to me is the best because of the menacing feeling.

Version #1, because it's actually fun to listen to. Kinda reminds me of stuff like "Tamborine" and "Starfish & Coffee" with its whimsical, psychedelic feel. I admittedly haven't even listened the whole way through Version #2 on the SDE yet, but what I've heard of the bootleg sounds like a minimalistic slog that isn't nearly as interesting as similar tracks from the same time period.

Version #2 is fire. Always loved this version. Version #1 is cool to hear, but I like how he stripped it raw to fit the dark mood and tone of the lyrics.
