SOTT promo ala Tom Petty's 'Wildflowers' I just watched a pretty good news report on Tom Petty's new Wildflowers box set with interviews with his daughter and a couple of Heartbreakers. I wish the Estate had done this kind of promo with SOTT and released 'Forever In My Life' (Early Vocal Run-Through) as a single edit.

Still haven't receieved my box set in the mail but really looking forward to it. I've been listening to my download of the deluxe edition of "Wildflowers" until my actual package arrives. This is a fantastic set!

Who would you have chosen for the interviews? Tom's daughter is an obvious choice, but sending Duane Tudahl on a press tour wouldn't be so compelling. And what does a single edit have to do with this?

I'm sure it is. I've never heard the album in its entirety but I just might now.

Maybe a family member? Possibly the better bet would be someone you is running the Estate. Is that a family member? I don't know to be honest. Prince kept his family incredibly private and the fan base were exposed to his associated more than the family. So yeah...maybe Duane Tudahl.
As for the single edit of Forever In My Life, I meant it would, in my opinion, have been be a good single to promote the boxset the same way the Tom Petty boxset had a single (and a video). Minus the awesome funky second half, I'm willing to bet that song would have had some traction at radio.
