He also states that The Family reunited and went on to recorded "many albums". For those who don't know, they recorded 1 (!) under the moniker FDeluxe.

.

Only one FDeluxe album? I'm counting at least four. The worst part of Neal's book is the fact checking on Prince's career (Sound 80 as Chris Moon's studio, for one thing), but if you're trying to discredit the book on facts, get your own in order.

.

Also.. this is the first book not focused on Prince as the artist and his career, but Prince the person, with personal anecdotes from interviews and talks he had with Prince over the last 30+ years. That alone, to me, means it's a good addition to what we already have. And like Neal emphasises in his book, he goes on what Prince told him, for the most part, and Prince liked to tell lies for the fun of it. The book is a relative breath of fresh air, showing a different side of Prince that is not shown very much: that he was as human as the rest of us.

And here you went and got me all excited that they may have actually released something that I missed! But alas no, they recorded 1 original album. The others releases are remixes of the first, a live performance (which I actually attended), and a covers album. I don't count the repackaging of previous songs as a new album. If you do, fair enough but an album of original material is what counts in my book and If they ever release a second album, I'll buy it the day it comes out.

Sorry for getting your hopes up. smile

They keep teasing about more stuff. I suppose you could see that Eric Leeds/Paul Peterson project as related. I'm wondering what the story is about Jerome and the Family. Everyone keeps saying a bit too loudly that everyone loves everyone, but he never shows up at reunions. But that's for another thread, really.

And now for something completely random....
I wish it wasn't fentanyl that was being reported because what if just IF, oh I don't know, maybe he died of a FANTENYL as in a fantennial celebration and honestly now I believe he died from a fountain pen. He just wrote too much and it was mightier than his sword. Anyway, I sure do miss him since he's gone. Seeing him perform in concert was fabulous and I'm happy for every show I went to. I think as a unit, the fans ought to figure out how to connect with each other better than worrying about Prince. I'm happy his music has enabled me to meet and appreciate the people I have so far.
