Sign o the Times 7inch singles box set My Sign of the Times 7inch singles box set just arrived - all nicely sealed and no damage to the exterior case. Have bought it for collection rather than listening so I've not opened it. But it rattles a lot... more than I would expect, judging by the list of contents anyway. A postcard wouldn't /shouldn't rattle that much. So... anyone else got theirs yet? And anyone opened theirs? Rattle, rattle? If anyone has any damaged contents, I'm guessing there will be no replacements as it's a limited / numbered print run.

I was just wondering..why there is no talking about this box ....or it is hidden ..somewhere .. because some people round here should have received it. I also would like to hear if the buyers are confident with the box set.

i think that there is not much fuss about it cause it is not that interesting besides the nice packaging. On social media though people are bashing each other for buying more than one set

A 12" boxed set would have been more interesting. Especially with the proposed "Ballad Of Dorothy Parker" 12" included. "Whatever skin we're in

agreed. was saddened to find out the box was stuffed with 7 inchers. i have close to zero interest in hearing these! definitely would've bought a 12" set though. a lot more practical to play and the musical contents are far more interesting than truncated versions of my favorite songs.

Yep got confirmation last week... and it arrived today... then I got the fed-ex invoice for import and handling.... which basically means that I paid the dollar price but in gbp...
agree with the comments about 12" releases too... or an even better idea would have been 7inch pic discs...

Mine should be here on the 24th according to tracking, but it's in NC right now so I'm thinking it should be here before then, probably Friday.

I'm in U.K. My order shipped very late on 14th August. I received an email update and the website reflects the same status. The email has a tracking link.

Them postcards do make a lot of noise. When u get the download card in LP boxsets they really rattle. I understand from a collectors point of view, but isn't it kind of pointless buying this if you only have the one copy and don't intend to open it? I've done that if I buy 2 copies of something though.

I haven;t received any mail yet for the shipping of it. (I'm in Netherlands)

- I will never understand why people buy something and leave it in... 'plastic' ?... which, will schrink after a while, thus damage the goods ... (look it up), just because it 'might' be worth a bit more after years of 'having it', but (so called) never looked at it, or used it ?! Laughing Out Loud. - I understand some peopel loooove to wrap things up, to keep it tidy neat and industrial. So, my way of enjoying 'stuff' is; I bought the Prince SDE '1999' (vinyls and cd's) I thouroughly need to 'feel', 'check' 'smell' it all. New stuff smells goooood ! But not in plastic. - By the way, I will never buy something wrapped in the so called original plastic. A guy I know buys (new) stuff, uses it (carefully of course), then rewrappes it again in ths same sort of plastic (he has this machine), you can't tell the difference. What utter crap the internet tries to make you believe, while others make money out of unbelievers. Must love wrapped so called 'original' stuff to get nicely fooled. Just sayin'. -

all the artwork for the new 'singles' looks bad. would have been better to just have the album cover as in 87, in a box, with all the singles in peach and black inner sleeves.

I have to disagree about a 12” set being better... We are about to get a HUGE 13 LP 12” record size set with all the extended mixes and b sides. While I’m not a collector of 7” records I do think the size lends itself well to a beautiful looking, neat box set. Also because I started collecting Prince in 1992 personally I have pretty much every CD single starting with Alphabet St and totally missed out on singles for this era so for me it’s a bit like fully experiencing this time period when I listen to the singles back to back. Also being able to hear the 2 versions of witness on wax before everyone else on gorgeous peach vinyl is a perk. Can’t wait to get mine although I will be waiting a while cause I’m in Australia, probably another 3 weeks I’d say but I’ll have it a month before the 13 LP set (which is nice). Really wish they had the forethought to put a limit in place for copies to purchase. There's only one reason someone buys 5 copies and it ain't to give one to me.

I live in LA. According to my tracking history, a shipping label was created on Aug 13. The next update came 5 days later that it was accepted. It says delivery on Aug 26th.
Was perusing ebay and saw these box sets go for $500 and $1300. "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

Assuming you're in the UK, did you order yours from Third Man or the Prince Store?
(I ordered from the latter and have only had a shipping email with a tracking number that doesn't seem to be correct.) All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.

I would have loved to purchase, but not in my budget. SOTT SDE $$$ is a great stretch. Anyway, I sold my turntable several years ago. "I like to watch."
