We can glimpse into Prince's psyche as he's developed over time both mentally and spiritually, through his music.

I have just turned 25 and I wholeheartedly relate to Prince singing songs like Let's Pretend We're Married, as he did when he was my age. However, I also very much understand his need for more deeper, spiritual connection on songs such as Anna Stesia, which he made when he was 30.

For these reasons, I believe I am more developed than Prince was at 25. Have you ever thought about this, and if so, how do you relate?

Yes, I have thought of it. I am 41 and Prince is about 7 years ahead of me Spiritually. He feeds my need for Spiritually with certain songs. His strength to put him self out there on that level encourages me to do the same.

However though I thought Prince should change his name about 4-5 years before he did. I did'nt expect it to be silent though. But after a while of living with it I understood. I wanted him to change it back to Prince about a year before Rave came out.

Right now I feel nothing will happen with Wendy and Lisa/ The Revolution until 2005. I don't no why but I sense it.

Funny, Anji, I’ve compared my own development to Prince’s over my entire teen and adult life.

I’m 30. At that age, Prince had last released “Batman” and was about to introduce “Graffiti Bridge.”

From a creative and professional standpoint, I have no hope I’ll ever catch up with Prince. Even though I suspect (and, of course, I can only suspect) I’m better-read and have a better intellectual comprehension and articulation of any number of subjects than he had at my age, Prince is a mega-talent and a lightning rod of inspiration, and by age 19 he had synthesized concepts to construct amazing artistic statements in ways I’ll likely never be able to approach. I do suspect, though, I’m a bit more savvy at this age as to the boundaries of what’s cool, campy, passé and altogether lame. So while I appreciate Prince’s bravery to attempt oddball forays, I might be better able to circumvent embarrassing instances like mimicking a DJ scratching in the “Batdance” video, concocting the hokey persona of Gemini or a few months later trying to make that old-ass Honda motorcycle look cool years after its fashionability or dancing around in a garter belt in the "Theives in the Temple" video.

We have precious little real insight into other areas of Prince’s development besides perhaps romantically and spiritually. At 30, I’ve long since stopped playing games with people’s minds and hearts, I’ve been through a positive decade-long romantic relationship, I’m mature enough to be raising a kid, and I’ve pretty much well defined my relationship with God, areas that Prince seems to have wrestled with well through his 30s and perhaps into his 40s.
