Ok - as enjoyable as it was, that was the first episode that I've come away from feeling flat. Hide and seek, nerves in the bar at 1st Avenue, a nice touch about the backdrop to the cover, I'll give it that...but Dr Kildare...that's not a cutting room floor story?

Eric Leeds is a curiosity. I adore his musicianship and his frankness, but, boy, for a man who seems to have disliked or disagreed with so much of what Prince did or played, he really spends a lot of time coming on productions about Prince. In many ways it is refreshing to hear a person not be completely up the ass of their former employer, but would I continuously put myself infront of a microphone to keep saying so in public? OR, it's great that there's an adult in the room - so to speak. I don't know, this week's show is not giving me the satisfaction of the others, so far. Hopefully, things will return to normal, next week. cool

Maybe he needs the money...

Or he feels the need to recognize the appreciation and for the man who gave him opportunities because of his qualities: ''Prince gave me the possibility to record my own album.''

That's what Eric said in that podcast before the evenet screening on 09/25/2020.

Nice to know, Eric did pick up the phone at night when that skinny motherfucker with the deep voice said ''I'm cutting, what you doing?''

And Eric replied, ''I'm sleeping, see ya at noon''

Then, I believe Susannah replied; ''That's because he needed/tolerated you because he did not play the saxophone.''

-

Love that.

Yes, very true!!! They've said the same thing about Lisa. Prince LOVED the way she played, because she had/has a different style. She was the ONLY one who got away with smoking during rehearsals. Prince needed Eric for saxophone, so he was not going to cause conflict.

One nice trait about Prince wa he never talked badly about anyone is his camp. Alwasy complimentary. The revolution, the Time, Morris, everyone was the best whenever he spoke publicly about anyone.
