I think that is a nice list of artists influenced by Prince. However I feel that these artists were influenced by a host of other artists.

If I was to list proteges, I would list.

These folks have earned their place in the industry, whatever it is. None of them are that new to the scene, although some are newer than others. Hell, Nysnc was a late 90s group and set records with No Strings Attached's release. Timberlake has written & produced Beyonce (which is one of the best songs on BEYONCÉ in my opinion). Frank is the male Solange, and that's a huge compliment as both are awesome. D should be doing way more than he is, and I don't know why he's not doing something. Miguel has been here, but I honestly wouldn't know any of his music.

So they've paid dues to be where they are. But to name them as proteges... I think the OP needs to read up on what's a protege. The real word for it is mentor or idol. That's what Prince was to these folks; an influencer, an icon, legend, and a blueprint, just as Santana, James, George, Jimi, Sly and others were to Prince. No one would call Prince a protege of James Brown or George Clinton or Larry Grah...okay maybe that last one is different, but you get my point.

It feels like a troll post, to be honest.
