eye no is one of the most magical things i've ever had the pleasure of listening to, ditto for the entirety of lovesexy, which is his best album

Funny, I don't think the arrangement of "Eye No" works for me, too cluttered and clashing and its all bright. I loved hearing the preliminary mixes that leaked when it was more minimal.

But "The Ball" is one dark surreal masterpiece to my ears. I think it sounds like art. Not pop. And I feel the funkiness of it's groove so much more, even though both are based on the same beat.

I agree. Eye No is much more focused. The Ball is too cluttered.

Really, I wouldn't call Eye know stripped down?

I have always thought "Eye No" is the better composition, the faster BPM along with the lighter but still funky touch to it makes it a fantastic album opener

Nah, "The Ball" is better.

"Lovexexy" being my favorite album, I like "Eye No" better. But "The Ball" is still good.

I agree that it sounded like a mess before and still does now. With that said, The Ball would have been the only song that should have been removed from the Crystal Ball configuration.

Its so obvious to my ears that The Ball is cooler than Eye No... but then again I love the song "Strawberry Fields Forever".

I live down the road from Strawberry Fields so I’m bound to be bias and say you have good taste

Why I like "The Ball": It's the surreal dreamlike qualities, the backwards guitar sounding quasi-eastern, sound effects of a crowd, the bizarre effects on the vocals, the unusual arrangment, the sound of the "bottles", and it is so funky. And it all paints a cinematic swirling magical picture in my mind.

I'm amazed some people prefer 'The Ball'. It seems more a jam and the sound on the vocal is terrible. 'Eye No' takes it to another level.
