SOTT: Remaster sound quality is amazing Although my pre-order hasn't arrived yet. the official Prince YouTube page has commenced with the box set uploads, including the full album.
The sound quality is increadible - an exemplary demonstration of how to remaster an album without compressing or white washing the sound with a treble boost.
The bass is richer, the snare is sharper (just listen to The Cross), the guitars are dirtier and, overall, the album just feels heavier.
The estate have done a fantastic job.

[Edited 9/24/20 7:04am] I just played my old CD version of The Cross in my home theater setup and noticed a tape hiss type sound in the background during the beginning, switched over to the remastered version and it was gone. They really did do a good job in so many ways. | |

hmmm... normally I love hearing the details like the tape hiss or unintentional room noises, etc. It's part of the song to me, and a good remaster should keep all that, but just add clarity and depth to it all. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid
