In an alternative universe where Prince only wrote the songs that have been released posthumously and you .......

have been tasked by the record label to curate 6 albums to be released from
1982-1987 from the below tracks. You don’t need to use all of them. Just six albums.

If you can’t be bothered, comment on how you think his career would
be viewed today if he was only active in 82-87 and only released from the below material, a large catalog in and of itself by most other artists standards.

You can call it whatever you like. It’s your alternative universe.

Would be strong enought but I'm not sure it would be iconic as he's now regarded, I mean in a universe without WDC, PR, SOTT, 1999, Kiss, LRC, DM, IIWYGF, LGC. He wouldn't be the iconinc Prince we know today.

Of course not. The thought experiment is not to compare Prince in the alt universe to Prince in this one.

Think about every 80s night you’ve been stuck at. How people go nuts for even one hit wonders. There’s more than enough solid gold in the above list to have been a huge 80s icon in my opinion.

For context. The above list is approximately the same amount of material as Michael Jackson released from Off The Wall right up to and including his two
posthumous albums.

We’ve had a HUGE career’s worth of material released since 2017 alone. I’m just trying to appraise it alone.

Interesting.

Was Adonis and Bathsheba’s inclusion twice intensional?

They are not very good albums unfortunately.

Toofunkyinhere

Probably wouldn't have had many hits. But would've been a highly regarded alternative artist i think.
We're here, might as well get into it.
