Crowd noise on cocoa boys is too distracting to me

It's really cool but why is it mixed like Prince is playing in a garage? Is it me or does it have a very unusual sound for a Prince song? A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...iscog/home

I'm pretty sure I hear things that are not in the rehearsal, which thankfully suggests it's a real track Prince made out of it and not some savage posthumous edit of it. Opinions? A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...iscog/home

OK this is confirmed by Princevault, most likely thru Duane: Prince mixed some twelve-and-a-half minutes down to the song that was released on one of the discs with previously unreleased tracks included with the Sign O’ The Times Super Deluxe set in September 2020. I'm pretty sure he created this one adding instruments and lyrics to the drumming from the Flesh sessions (or one of those related tracks that came out in bootleg for a few years ago)...it sounds familiar but I can't tell which one...

Eggplant took me by surprise. I actually prefer the Wendy version. That said, I didn't dig Eggplant when I first heard it but it grew on me, maybe this version will be a grower as well. 🍢

My Thoughts:
hmm, sounds familiar but can't place it. Average to me. mid-tempo, doesnt really go anywhere. "Paisley Park is in your Heart"

I find the strings on Crucial suspiciously low. .

Love the idea there could be a remastered, improved Adonis & Bathsheba. Truly great song, can't believe Susan Rogers didn't dig it. (she'd said in interview she thought it was the first time he'd lost knack of putting out brilliance)

And the amazing guitar solo at the end of Crucial. Can anyone confirm all P input came in 1986?

It's nice to have the basic tracks version of Cocoa Boys but this version blows it out of the water. I like every choice he made here with this one, even the crowd noise.

It Be's Like That Sometimes definitely has I Know/The Ball in the vocal delivery and melody.

. I didn't note down the timings, unfortunately, but I had the same feeling while listening to that track (i.e. hearing at least some effects, if not overdubs, that were not present in the complete rehearsal recording).

The beat on "It Be's Like That Sometimes" reminded me immediately of "Violet Blue". Like! NPG Radio:

Don't know what else to say, but that I love Soul Psychodelicide. I love the punch on this one
7. The Ball
I immediately heard TRUST. He should have gotten Juan Escovedo and Sheila E to spice up those percussions i'm hearing. #ALBUMSSTILLMATTER

My only real complaint is why didn’t they include the good version of Crucial?? These lyrics suck ass compared to the later version Some things just don’t need to be included. If you’re gonna include CRUCIAL, include CRUCIAL and not discount-Crucial....
