This Thursday night at 7:00 PM CST I am hosting a virtual discussion on the Sign O' the Times album and joining me will be none other than Matt "Dr." Fink! It is part of Hennepin County Libraries' "Album Encounters" series. Last year we opened up a vinyl listening room to start making use of our large vinyl collection. We had guest curators who would pick out selections for people to lisetn to as well as come and do a program at the library. In fact I had Donna Grantis lined up to be a curator and she was going to do a program at the library about how blues influenced her guitar playing... but then the world blew up and we can't do in person things right now so we started these virtual programs.

Our first discussion was about the Husker Du "Zen Arcade" album. Then we did Janelle Monae's "Dirty Computer" and Bob Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks" At the Dylan discussion we had some special guests who played on the album join us and it made me think "Hmmm? Wonder who I could get? And Lo and behold I got Dr. Fink! It is great since he was with Prince in the early years through the Revolution and then when the Revolution broke up he was the only member to go on and play on the Sign O' the Times and Lovesexy tours. So we will talk about all that an more!!
