Nice

This is not music, this is a trip
No, it's not a drug, it's something more hip
Don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
Purple music does the same to my brain

That's cool!

My first was Lovesexy (I think the first of the two) in Los Angeles November 1988. Man, if I ever find that show...

TBH, I was a little underwhelmed, even though I liked it.

One of my friends who went had the same crticism - that it was like going to see the movie all over again. Same dance moves, etc. Not much in the way of suprises. Plus we were dead center on the opposite end of the stage so lines of sight were less than optimal. This is back in the binocular days

Not only was it Prince, it was also my first ever concert. I waited in line overnight on the sidewalk in front of Sears in downtown Hamilton to get tix. What an experience!

There are a couple of things circulating right now. The Spectrum is sometimes titled "dance electric" as a file name because it centers a lot on that song. There is also the Buffalo soundcheck from Dec 17, 1984, that shouldn't be confused with it. Buffalo has:

Strange Relationship

Erotic City

Another Lonely Christmas

Let's Go Crazy

Delirious

Run time 90 minutes.

Philadelphiha run time 79 minutes & change.

Yeah, Oakland dates were after L.A. Sports Arena. I used to tell the story that Apollonia was there, and tried to get in under the stage before the show started. I swear it was her. I was sitting just about 2 o'clock from where Sheila's drums were. Very close. This gal tried to get someone to let her under the stage, but they wouldn't. She shrugged and went back to her seat. It was just recently I tweeted about that and she answered me. It wasn't her. LOL I was like, well shit! Who the fuck was that chick then thinkin' she could get in somewhere like that?!?!

Sure looked like Apples though.

lol

At the Oakland show we were standing at the gates where the celebrities enter the building. And I swear Billy Sparks from the purple rain movie walked by/though. He had a all blackout fit and a black hat with string very similar to the mountains video. I cant remember if he had sunglasses.

He was at least 10 feet from the gates.
I definitely recognized him.
Well... I cant say if it was him or not lol why would he be in Oakland?
maybe it was some lookalike

OH, shit! Just found one of them. "Wendy, can you stop playing until you're asked to play? Is that too hard?" Damn.

Then...

"Did I ask you to do a part? Stop. I'm not working with you now. Stop!"
