PRINCE AND ALBERT MAGNOLI It seems that the collaboration between Prince and director Albert Magnoli was a good one - yielding some great visual / story highlights. The film Purple Rain. The concert movie Sign O' The Times. The music videos Batdance and Partyman. Some real fantastic and iconic Prince on screen moments.
Magnoli seemed to somehow get where Prince was coming from and how to transfer Prince's vision to the screen in an exciting way. What if Magnoli had ended up directing Graffiti Bridge?
Anyone know why they did not continue their collaboration? Was having Magnoli become his manager for a time the beginning of the end?

I wish Albert Magnoli had directed a video for Pop Life.

They were a good combo... shame about Graffiti Bridge not being under Magnoli's direction... likewise most all Prince narrative aimed projects. I've heard the 3121 movie is really weak (the Questlove podcast/conversation) My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

I was put off initially by "our homeboy Prince", however it WAS 91, so I guess it was OK . For all time I am with you, you are with me.
