To me he obv had great groove, rock solid chops, but his strength is power rather than much dynamics. Sheila and John b were the most versatile and have more finesse. Listen to George Benson Thats Right album.Michael is drummer there and get back about dynamics

Was that a real compliment of Prince...Sorry I am being a troll...
In all seriousness, Prince had a raw talent for drumming...others were more proficient but he was super creative, knew how to keep in the pocket and was a brilliant drum programmer..
As for the rest... Sheila is more of a percussionist than a standard drummer...so I will have rank her a bit lower here even though she is better overall than any of them on the list when it comes to percussion.
Leaving Prince off...

Prince had enough white people in his band already to make a point about racial diversity. I agree. Bobby Z did what he was told. Morris likes attention more. Morris is a good drummer but he really didn't play for Prince all that much. Some say he played on Irrestible Bitch and we know he played on a sizable chunk of the Time songs (when they were not programmed by Prince), but Irrestible bitch is disputable.

Well next to Andre, Bobby was the first (Jewish technically) Bobby played with Prince in connection to 94East
Yeah Irresistable Bitch is the same drumming from Cloren Bacon Skin but whether Prince just used Morris's playing or copied it etc Morris hasn't talked about it
But yeah a lot of the Time music is Morris on drums

1 and 2 - Blackwell and Bland in a dead heat 3 - Sheila E 4 - Cora 5 - Kirk
I only included drummers who were officially in Prince's band. I also excluded Prince. [Edited 9/6/20 21:00pm]

Bobby Z in terms of understanding Princes vision and how great his pocket is. check pro shot of NY81 on utub
Michael Bland amazing player he can do any style perfect. brought a lot of testosterone to Princes sound
Cora CC Dunham she is a great drummer playing with ferocity and balls almost unseen when it comes to female drummers
Sheila E nice fluent in the pocket drumming
John Blackwell amazing flash, not that much pocket but lot of great dynamics.
honorable mention Prince From I Wanna Be Your Lover to Glass Cutter was a long way to go.Prince was a very good underrated drummer who could have play drums for any pop rock funk band. Very distinctive and simple style at the early days with characteristic light kick sound but latter on his drumming became more complex, influenced by great drummers that played with him. Princes drumming on Glass Cutter is one of his best.hi hat work is insane.
