The Cookie Jar incident

It was always said that some engineer at Sunset Sound fucked up (and if I'm not mistaken I believe the Sunset Sound boss actually told Per that they had fucked up and that they had apologized to Prince, who sort of shrugged), but George Clinton has a different take on the story in his recent Questolve interview: http://princevault.com/in...Cookie_Jar

.

So, is it like... such an honor to accidentally destroy a Prince song that everybody wants to take credit for it? lol lol lol Or did I dream the story about Sunset Sound apologizing? (I think this memory comes from DMSR but I read it 20 years ago so IDK)

I'm not familiar with the recording process of this song, but what a kick ass track. I'm willing to take the heat and say this is better than the previous versions of the song, in fact one of the few times Prince shined in a remake song of another artist (covering wasn't his strongest attributres).
