"Bedtime Story" (Rehearsal) APPRECIATION THREAD -------- What an amazing track. I was listening to this on repeat when I was stoned last night, the song is so smooth and beautiful, I felt like I was with Prince & Band in the rehearsal. And Prince's singing is so awesome and dream-like in this song, wish it was way longer.

this is stunning, those PR rehearsals are like the gift that keeps on giving, so many undiscovered surprises. I decided the rehearsals of that tour are far superior than the tour itself. Thank you for the heads up!
I It's one of those songs that is more convincing from Prince. It feels like something that could have been on tape in the Kids bedroom.
It's great hearing the rehearsals with Prince & the Revolution on these outtakes

Are you all sure P couldn't read music? On Bedtime story, he's telling the band different notes to play. I play music myself but couldn't even begin to tell you what notes to change to and do. I'd have to find a certain note and play it for you and then let you listen to it to know what I'm talking about. | |

It's WAY FAR superior than the bland Sheila E. version. But too bad Sheila hasn't sung it in the last many performances I attended. She gives an AWESOME show! There is a difference between write/read Music sheet and to know in what chord you are playing. I play music and it's better to know the chords if you want to improvise on it. This is what Prince is telling the band. "You can skate around the issue if you like,
But who's gonna get you high in the middle of the night?" | |
