You need to take your meds.

No one is "altering history" or creating a "false narrative."

I clearly stated, IN MY OPINION, I find the natural quality of Paul's voice to be more pleasant/resonant/richer than the natural tone of Prince's, though P had more range and vocal technique.

Perhaps you should brush up on your reading comprehension skills and/or look up what terms like "timbre," "tone," "range," technique" mean in the context of "singing voice" and how they are all different things.

I'll have to give this album another spin soon. It's been a minute for sure bit I remember it being my heavy rotation car cassette tape go to for a good while. My friends liked it also.
But arguing about whether or not someone likes a vocal track seems like a weird hill to die on, regardless of how it speaks to one's particular ears.
Then again, this place grows increasingly weird every time I poke my head back into it just to see what's shakin so, hey, you guys do you.
I don't think "I didn't care for the vocals" should be a controversial opinion one way or the other is what I'm saying but I'm not gonna break it down too hard, especially since I can't sing for shit.
Suffice it to say, the songs I've heard from the record that have Prince singing are the versions I prefer but the song is good and the album is quite nice. Prince seemed to use a lot more "A" material on this one than he normally would. |
