That moment you realize you threw out all your Prince CD cases

Ugh...moved about 4 years ago and decided to downsize a bit and took all my CDs out of their cases and put them in nice little sleeves in a giant 1000 CD box.

I kept the CD booklets and even the back covers for all the CDs EXCEPT the Prince ones because I decided to keep the jewel boxes for thoese anyway (with the back cover inserts) plus the Digipacks for release like Planet Earth, One Nite Alone etc.

So fast foward 5 years and thinking I'd pull the cases out as I found the perfect spot for them but lo and behold there ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! I must have thrown them out by mistake.

Lost are Madhouse 8/16 CD cases (fortunately I still have the LPs), Exodus, NEWS, ONA etc.......ARRRRRGH!

Yeah have the actual CDs and the cd booklets but they are essentialy worthless. I would never sell them but still would have been a nice heirloom.

DAMN IT!

It’s easy to buy a batch of empty jewel cases.

Hey-

I feel for you Bud! Over the years my husband and I moved quite a few times with our jobs. (We are in the eighth place currently.) I can't tell you the beloved posters, glassware, clothes, tools, etc. that at this time we have no idea where they went. And the moves weren't that far; all in the same state.

It's just a good thing that the love and the music in our lives goes on. "Life is just a party, and parties weren't made to last" pretty much sums it up! Come to the vinyl side, you'll like it...

Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

Almost as bad a me gifting the bulk of my collection (100+ CDs including boots) to my younger sister, only to find them broken and water damaged in her garage 10 years later. Kept the 80s stuff and my very favourite bootlegs, but still. Grounds for disowning her I think. wink

I moved most of my CDs to one of those magazines years ago and threw out all the jewel boxes and the books to save space. Don't really miss them EXCEPT Around the World in a Day. I loved the cool fold-out long box and CD sleeve...don't know what the hell I was thinking getting rid of it.

Worst part of it I used to keep one of the magazines in my car back when I LISTENED to CDs in my car...someone broke into it and stole all of them. Most of the 90s CDs were in there INCLUDING Gold Experience. I was SOOOO sad. I have since re-purchased them but it really sucked.

I kept box sets and PR and SOTT as they were first CDs I ever owned.

Oh man, I feel for you!! I have never lost any of my Prince albums/CDs, etc. Even when all I had to my name back in the day was a box of clothes and a bigger box of Prince albums, they went with me on the Greyhound bus when I moved from Texas to Washington state. I made sure each time we stopped somewhere that the bus driver didn't accidently give my box of albums to someone by mistake. biggrin
