eek who in their right mind would sit to listen to 45 minutes of such a thing.

The same people who listen to the 30-minute version of "I Would Die 4 U" 12" single, the 21:46 version of "America," the 18 minute version of "Purple Rain" from Syracuse, 10:something version of "eye Wish U Heaven," I suppose.

Here here. Gimme all dem long ass joints. The longer the better. Mad Soul Psychodelicide was only an hr instead of a year as previously stated mr.green.

OMG I totally forgot about that! Yes! Reminds me of "Junk Music" or "Purple Music."

Junk Music is amazeballs nod. 63 minutes 19 seconds of awesomeness. A personal favorite. Purple Music (studio/ piano) both dope 2.

Edit for emphasis.

I've just been listening to "The War" and had forgotten how good this is. I've been feeling this song today.

This song will always be better than anything and people forget.

Forget they're reading into one thing on the journey of another. Escapism is a valid trip for everyone. The world travels the same path for too long and surely there is loss. The joy of life involves expression and includes lack of interpretation.

I'm learning to trust more what I want to relay when giving feedback.
The simplest song never requires a 45 minute time slot.

To those breaking down the lyrics one by one, remember to replace the words if you don't know the words and eventually someone will see the point of view.

He actually payed this live once in London at the Hippodrome aftershow back in 98'.

I was at that gig, but I was very drunk. It felt like he'd turned alcohol into LSD.

Yep I was there too and when this topic came up, I thought I had dreamed this being played at the Hippodrome. So glad you confirmed it

what was the whole performance like?

edit , sorry I misread, I thought you meant at the Paisley gig when the War was recorded. I do love the Hippodrome gig though I have only experienced it through the magic of illicit recordings smile

Who gets drunk at a prince concert? Especially a hard-core fan like you sm? [Edited 6/11/20 21:47pm]

1. I'm a brit and we like a beer.

2. I've been to so many Prince gigs, at some point, there is a cross over!

There was talk of a 45-minute version of this song. I'd love 2 hear that if it exists.

It was that long indeed but somewhat who attended the show once said here that it was quite repetitive and less interesting than the released, overdubbed version. It would still be an incredible document to have. http://princevault.com/in...ne_1998-am
