perfect timing, as I should have finished his first book by then. I started reading it over the summer and haven't been able to finish it. Not because I didn't want to - the book is a page turner for Prince fans -it's just that I finally have some down time during this quarantine to dedicate more time to reading it. This is a great book - it's well-written and well-researched (unfortunately not the case for so many other Prince books that I've read); I'm really enjoying reading the details of Prince's recording sessions and cross-referencing them with the bootlegs. Really looking forward to the next book.

Why a song delay between the delivering in June & the publishing in March = 9 months ???

I am sure there will be edits and changes... Many times when a Book is "finished" and submitted it is read and edits and corrections are made... But I agree that is a long time. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Whenever this volume comes out I will be ready for it! I was very impressed by Mr. Tudahl's coverage of the Purple Rain-era studio sessions. Like he says, this next book will cover a motherlode creative period of which the reporting I am sure will be extremely enlightening to me.

Well, Mr Tudahl, just make sure that I can buy it for Amazon Kindle and I'll be fine!

There's also the simple fact of marketing. If a book like this can't be released by Halloween (ie, Christmas shoppers), it will often be delayed for a better date, and in the case a few weeks before the 5 year anniversary of his death is the perfect time. Remember, $ still makes the world go 'round.

I will be buying this of course, but to be honest I haven’t finished the first one yet! Dare I say it, I got abit bored of , and today this was recorded, and so on and so on. I guess it just showed how hard he worked in the studio and how prolific he was. Which was the point of the book right! I will shut up!

You are not alone - I got about half way thru & haven't picked it up again. I like it but it's not like a book with a plot which demands I read it straight thru. I'll get back to it but I'm not in any hurry.

Im about half way through. I read about 1/4 of it and put it down for several months due to being crazy busy. But now I'm back at it and very much enjoying it. For me it is best when I read about 30-45 minutes at a time, which works well since there is always a good stopping point.
I hope I don't finish until the next one is out so I can smoothly transition to it without any gap.
