So Minnesota: Bronze Prince statue to be unveiled in town where Purple Rain was filmed

One Minnesota town in Sibley County is adding to it's rock and roll history.

A scene in Prince's Purple Rain was filmed in the small community of Henderson.

Wolfie87	So Minneapolis. Where's the real deal statue in downtown or at First Avenue? Minneapolis IS the only town in the world where a single artist has put a town on the map. A band has put Liverpool (however, in Europe their Football team is as famous as the Beatles) on the map. But not a single artist. Minneapolis= Prince.

Dylan is more singer/songwriter of 60's New York personally. If you say Minneapolis you think of Prince before Dylan. No questions about it.

Agreed.

I’m from Australia, and on a road trip from DC to AC I made sure I stopped in Philly just to run up the stairs and pose with the Rocky statue.
Sure there are other things to see in Philly but we didn’t have time and it was the one thing we wanted to do.

Similar situation with MN and Prince imo.

Don't tell me what I think. When I think of Minneapolis, I think of Dylan and Prince. And all fans of Dylan know his history very well. Dylan has a lot of fans, by the way.

I know for me personally, I never really thought about Minneapolis or Minnesota, that is until Prince! From then on, to me, Minnesota and Minneapolis = Prince!
