Wasn't it around now or June/July when we found out about 1999 Super Deluxe? You would think something would at least be announced pretty soon. Maybe by Prince's birthday?

i hear they're going to have 4 new designs of face masks announced in june! i can hardly wait.

or better yet, a surprise release on his birthday of something like, say, originals 2 and then

but you know, we'll probably get an announcement on his birthday, saying that there will
be a 'big announcement.....soon!'. some things never change

who knows, WB and the estate might be like "oh but we released LIVE! just now and we're
not about to over saturate the market people, it's enough for this year. besides, all people
were hoping waiting and praying for was the release of LIVE! which is fantastic, it's release
was a 1st on streaming, breaking records. blablablablabla "

I've been thinking about this a lot as we've gotten closer to P's birthday. Ideally we get a streaming release of some kind of album next month like we did with Originals last June, and an annoucement of a Super Deluxe for the holidays. Personally I would love Originals Vol. 2 released on all streaming platforms next month/July.

I’m guessing that Warner Bros are deliberately holding off on announcing anything until after Sony release Rainbow Children / One Nite Alone. Announcing a new release (especially something a bit pricey like a super deluxe set) may result in some customers cancelling their ONA pre-orders in favour of some previously unreleased material. Although they may be competing companies, it works in their best interests not to step on each others toes.

Since they won’t have the time to promote a new release for June 7th I reckon they’ll mark the occasion by making a big announcement then. That gives Sony a little over a weeks grace to sell as many copies of ONA as they can. It better be a big announcement too. They lose the rights to publish Prince’s Warner albums by the end of this year (possibly a bit before). They’ll probably bump whatever vault album they had planned in favour of pushing one last super deluxe.

I could be entirely wrong, but that’s my logic anyway.

It makes sense to release in November, to catch the Christmas season.

You refer to show #1 from P&M PP Gala? Despite its low video quality it seems like a multi cam professional recording to me.

yes. but the audio doesnt match his playing, the footage is real, dont know how they got that, I havent watched it all, just skipped through it. I dont think it is the real thing.

Agree, looked at it a bit longer and it seems that this is just a loop of a few shots of 20 sec over the audio of the first show.
