Playing bootlegs on the radio was not unheard of when I was young, si I guess it's still common practice. There actually was a weekly live show on one of the biggest French radio channels circa 91, and more than half of what they played were soundboard boots.

Haven't heard any Small Club cuts

of We March which was pretty good.

Not hearing any of this...it's like everytime I turn to it, it's "Love Is Contagious" or "Kiss".

You're not using the links. You can play five different hours and select
what you want.
On my PC, there's links that say:
Go Live
Back 1 Hour
Back 1 Hour
Back 1 Hour
Back 1 Hour
The same on the app, under the timeline line.

I just don't understand an official channel promoting a boot like that. Did it slip in and the estate hasn't caught it?

I wonder if it was the live cut from the NPGMC days. It was one of three extra songs (outside of the Ahdio show), along with "Vicki Waiting" and "Return of the Bump Squad" that were released. If I'm not mistaken.

As far as Small Club - this is a Prince recording in general. It's likely he taped it, too, not just the soundboard guy or whoever got whatever audio. Hell, we've heard Parade shows, and he still played his tapes on the Ahdio shows. It's not unreasonable that maybe they're playing stuff the estate is peppering out. This isn't just a Prince playlist station. It's a place for interesting and perhaps one-of-a-kind stuff/moments.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

True, but they're showing the Small Club boot.

Oh. Well, again, the estate is doing this in partnership with Sirius, so it's reasonable to consider that they offered some Prince recordings that have been unreleased until now.

I tell ya, the Legacy stuff is cute, and all, and the deluxe stuff is super nice. They could really clean up the bootleg market not by releasing every single thing but by releasing specific things like this Small Club Trojan Horse show, or maybe a Parade show (like the one in Paris at Le Zenith where "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night" was recorded). The PAAM thing was nice, but let's dig into those shows and pepper them out, one every year or so would be fine, maybe every 18 months. Gotta stagger shit, but still. Let's get to it.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Clearly this is from the bootleg. The Estate isn't gonna give away vault material to Sirius without either party bragging about it and using it as a marketing argument to get listeners.

But what does it matter to the Estate if Sirius plays bootlegs, particularly if it's a copyrighted song like Still All Stand All Time? In the end they still get the royalties regardless of which version it is. That's pretty much why artists and labels never really bothered to harass radios for playing a song from a live bootleg every once in a while. it doesn't harm their business models, composers and, when applicable, performers and labels still get paid as if it was the legit version of the track. So now the Estate could sens a C&D to Sirius and, who knows, maybe they will, but in the end I don't think they have anything to gain from doing this (except bad publicity if Sirius publicly complains about it). Besides, I'm not 100% sure but I think Small Club was among these bootlegs someone uploaded to streaming platforms after P died, so the files must be doing the rounds in the Pandora database that Sirius uses.

I was listening then, and they played the Graffiti Bridge version of Still Would Stand All Time but included the artwork for a Small Club boot. I was really confused.
