TPT will premiere the terrific new documentary “First Avenue: Closer to the Stars” at 9 p.m. Monday. It will also be available for streaming on the PBS Video app and via tpt.org.

“Closer to the Stars” traces First Avenue’s history, from the hippie era to the disco days to “Purple Rain” to indie rock to today. It also examines the times that the “pirate ship that goes nowhere” nearly closed its doors.

I haven't watched it all, but around 19:20 there is a section of Prince anecdotes.
