[Edited 5/7/20 16:42pm] [Edited 5/7/20 17:05pm] They aren't removing something that was already on an album/B-side by Prince. The song has never been released. You can't erase it. It leaked forever ago and can be heard on youtube this very moment. But some fans want it to be officially included on these deluxe editions and Howe and Co. made a moral decision in not doing so. Go listen to the bootleg and be happy. Or Xtraloveable, which he put out for you. If they ever decide to censor what was released by Prince officially then I'm not for that. Couldn't you argue he didn't release anything beyond disc 1 "for a reason", though? Sure can. At that time in his career those songs did not reflect what he wanted out in the public. I think we can all agree that we want to hear unreleased songs by Prince. He himself said somebody is gonna release the vault material. That somebody, for ethical or business reasons, did not release two in particular; even when he's an admitted completionist. [Edited 5/7/20 17:21pm]

Prince revealed so much of what humans are really like in his art. He told us things with his lyrics no one dares tell. Posthumously, his art should be released AS IS with no filters. "if you can't clap on the one, then don't clap at all"

- Actually, the mistake Warner Brothers made with Looney Tunes is trying to classify it as children's entertainment when it was really meant more for adult audiences (they were packaged together with news reels and main features in the movie theaters back in the day). Looney Tunes is closer in classification to offensive, politically incorrect, adult-oriented animation like South Park than it is to family friendly content like Disney cartoons (although some of those early Disney shorts from the 20s and 30s probably have some offensive content as well). - But I agree with your point and I also think that the estate should really find an alternative method to getting these more explicit tracks to us fans who want them. Perhaps release them as stand alone tracks or on a "Rude Boy" compilation with warnings and red flags so that someone who was victimized by rape or just highly sensitive isn't going to be blind-sided by the lyrics. I imagine that they just didn't want the conversation around such an important record as 1999 to be hijacked by MeToo culture. But they dishonor and offend us long time, hard core fans that have been through thick and thin with Prince for such a long time. Hi-yo Silver, it's The Bone Ranger!

. Yet it is a trend in the USSA. It is a sign of the times. TYhis means we should press this case extra hard towards Michael, Estate, WB and such. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

- ... press this case extra hard towards... ? What war we're in ? Covid19 or 2 unreleased trx in (nearly post-) #MeToo times ? lol ...Joe biden might be next. "No no that's not how it works" (P quote) But you're right about these kind of trends in the USA. In fact it has always been this way. Anyways... what did 'skinny motherfucker' say ? "If you can't beat 'm, join 'm." (P quote) These tracks are out there. We all heard 'm a zillion times. Not much to change about that, not even in a hard way. ("You gotta fight for your right, to paaaaaaarty" (Beastie Boys quote) Best we could get are (free) downloads. I already compiled my own damn 1999 super-deluxe-version. Only thing is I can't press it on vinyl. - Peace (P quote too) -

. I mentioned those parties. .
. Would you think that they, when there's money on the line, will understand how things can work based on the choices this far? That is why we need to press extra hard to be sure some people might `get` it. . lol ...Joe biden might be next. . He is in teh optimal age bracket. And for karma reasons he should suffer from COVID-19 a bit. . Anyways... what did 'skinny motherfucker' say ? . Yes. A properly mastered version, perhaps a slightly different version (not edit, but take), is still very nice to have. .
. The album (1999 remastered) has already been released; they will not redo that one anytime soon. I get that. But the quote suggests we should fight. Do we have proper contact info for Michael, The Estate, WB or any other relevant parties? WB netherlands does not listen, I know from email attempts. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... - (...) my cinical remarks got lost in your reading - I don't believe there's not enough money on the line, the museum, maintaining the vault material, etc must coast a fortune (and no I don't like to search for all expenses, I'll gladly leave that up to Bart) - "and for karma reasons... a bit" that's something you even don't wish your worst enemy. something I even do not wish for Trump (...but I might have second thoughts on that one) Anyways. Be sure Michael Howe or people from his team peek in here from time to time. I think that's highly possible - yes i know it's an assumption. Prince apparently was here too from what i've read - also assumed. - This here, the .org, is the biggest Prince stall left full of mostly 45+ aged freaks like us and me (over 50) who like to spend $/Euros on music from the previous century. Still, peace (...in dit tranendal). - (RIP Little Richard. Prince stole a lot from you. + read interesting quote from Paul McCartney posted on Instagram) -

Agreed. As much I would've liked the two songs to have been included, I don't want him caught up in any fuckery. While while he was here and especially now that he's gone. Can you say "Leaving Neverland"

This is the way I see it: if those songs were to be released in this day and age they are out there for whoever to see. One thing leads to another right? Not saying it woould happen in this case but it could and all it takes is for one nosey TMZ gossip reporter to come across those songs (whether on the album or here on the Org since it's such a hot topic) and that person will start something unnecessarily. Maybe the above is just hyperbole but if there are only two Prince songs that I never get to hear in my life and those are the two, I wont be sad. I already know the man's greatness or else I wouldnt be here. I dont really think this is that big of deal. [Edited 5/14/20 5:49am]

Censorship is not the solution to a TMZ type reporter starting something. Much great art would never pass that inane test. That's why we should keep it it intact for later generations. I do understand the point. Prince's art will outlive TMZ, but not gossips, no doubt. [Edited 5/14/20 9:21am] "if you can't clap on the one, then don't clap at all"
