Prince Partyman used in new Chicago Bulls The Last Dance

i haven't seen i tmentinoed but episode 3 of the new (Awesome) THe Last Dance documentary on the Chicago Bulls uses Partyma while Michael Jordan takes flight ...they use a pretty long portion...I loved it!

I think 'Sexy MF' would have been more impactful but ......you can't have it all.

This is EXACTLY what I hope to see continue. This is the best way for his music to get out there. Bring on Disney/Pixar next....

I saw it and it was perfect. They played almost the whole song (a few edits) hailing the new king in town! The show is amazing.

LMAO...i just knew that was gonna end up as a thread on this site, as it should be..while i was watching it Sunday night and saw that, and the part where P says "YOUNG & OLD, GATHER 'ROUND, EVERYBODY HAIL THE NEW KING IN TOWN!!" while onscreen there is a still shot of Michael Jordan slyly grinning back over his shoulder as the song ends, was a great touch... great use of a Prince song for sports content.

He shockingly had an easier time getting the okay to use Prince’s “Partyman” in episode III. In a “Hail Mary” bid, Hehir showed them a rough cut of the montage, and Prince’s estate, with a reputation of refusing to approve requests, consented pretty quickly.

Amazing montage and the use of the music was PERFECT!

We all know how much Prince liked basketball.

I bet he would have ok'd its use in a heartbeat, too. I recall when P attended a Bulls game. Used to have it on vhs razz. He didn't sit courtside for that particular game. So, this is a real short article, few paragraphs, but it also links to a thread here, ha. Mentions the time when Prince set up a tv on the side of the stage while playing in Montreal so he could watch the Bulls game while he was killin' it on stage. Lols.

The scans posted on the org also mention that Grumpy Old Men was filmed at PP. Cracks me up. Apparently, the only other film shot at PP was Drop Dead Fred, which I have never seen.

I know he loved the game of basketball, but I can't speak on whether he would have allowed his music to be used, because I think we all know how strict he was when it came to using his music. I think the only way we would truly know what he would have done or wouldn't have done, is if the man were here himself.

Just got caught up on the episode tonight. Freaking awesome to hear that song in that segment. Had to rewind it a couple of times to hear it again. Great use of a Prince song. Funky!!! Loving the show.
