Today, 4 years ago, the music definately died. It still feels like a bad dream. Thank God we have your music and live performances to keep our days funky and fresh. Damn, I miss u Prince. U r forever in my broken heart. 💔

I miss him everyday. He made my world brighter and more beautiful. He made me want to be a better person to those around me. I remember that the day I learned about the Moline incident that my first thought was 'Uh oh!' and that deep inside I carried a sense of dread and worry for him. My world was shattered on April 21st 2016. We still have his music but I would trade it all to just have him here with us again. I thank the Powers That Be that I was able to experience Prince in my lifetime. The Heavens are a funkier place for sure!!

Milty this is Absolutely Beautiful and professionally done. U did a great job. Hope it stay there 4ever.

Prince is in my Prays every night. I have never felt this way about someone I have never met… His music is the soundtrack 2 my life.

Prince Ur 4ever In My Life till The End of Time.

Gone but not forgotten

RIP

Thanks, pennylover! Despite it's flaws, I've never worked so hard on a film in my life. I had it launched on Prince's bday in 2016 but I still had to revisit it a year or so later. Please share if you can!

prince's music is definitely also the soundtrack to my life. If that's the case for you and I and many others, I'd say we led a good life smile

Sorry, I tried watching, but I could only get through a little bit of it. It was just to painful for me to watch, and brought back that day as if it happened yesterday. I'm sure you did a great job, and I hope that someday I will be able watch it all the way through without feeling so sad, but unfortunately I'm not there yet, in which surprises even me, since it's been 4 years now.

There's just such a fucking VOID that he left. I like other stuff well enough but I had been on this ride since 1983 and, during that whole time, no band or artist kept me as interested as he did. And never will.

He was so uniquely talented, unusual, independent and revolutionary. Even people who don't care for him acknowledge that he was one of a kind and true genius. Like, his stuff and his style - the way he went about things - it might not be everyone's cup of tea but I've never really met anyone who just thought he sucked.

He died 2 days after my (ex) wife served divorced papers on me and thirteen days before my 10th wedding anniversary. Felt like a message somehow, as if everything were dying at once. My ex and I met at a ONA show in Atlanta and played "The One" as our wedding song. We were (are) huge fans.

There's just no one left to fill the space he left behind, at least to my mind.

The only good thing that came out of it was the explosion of YouTube stuff that I'd never seen or heard before and the lax enforcement of the Internet Police. But then I find myself getting sad and teary eyed sometimes when something I watch resonates with me and induces the goosebumps all over again.

What a gift to the world he was.

I couldn't remember the date but around the 14th (I know) I came here and the secret numeric code on the home page (It's been 3,000 days, 400 hours, 12 minutes since he passed)

did not help.

I thought of starting a post with that drawn out wordy way of saying April 21, 2016

and asking WTF and, he is on my mind.

I am at a loss for words.

I avoided this thread for the past month. I just didn't want to post that I still miss him, because that would mean acknowledging that he is really and truly gone.

I remember that last week so well. The concerts in Atlanta, tweeting to him on 4/17 about the concerts and him retweeting me!

A young military girl had been trying to get tickets, had never seen Prince in concert and so wanted to see him, that I had struck up a conversation with her and even offered her the 7PM ticket for the 7th, if she wasn't able to get a ticket. I had tickets to both shows that night:

When the concert was canceled that night, it opened up for her to try getting another ticket for the 14th, and she was able to. I had kept my two tickets for both shows. She and I met up on the 14th and she took a picture of me, with his piano in the background:

The shows were incredible. I had to work the next day and it was late when I got in. I ended up getting a hotel in the city where I had to train the next morning.

Me at work the day after the concerts:

Not looking my best, but I only got about 3 or 4 hours of sleep! lol And yes, I went through the day following both concerts grinning like an idiot.

On the 17th, Prince retweeted me:

The young lady that I had offered the ticket to messaged me on Twitter: OMG!!! PRINCE RETWEETED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! I just laughed and said, "Yeah, he did."

On the 18th, I had to do a session explaining the direction training was taking within the South Carolina DHHS in front of the entire agency, including the Director and Department Heads. I'm usually very shy about it, speak quietly, very nervous. And then the projector wouldn't work when they were starting it. So while they were fixing it, I was talking, just to talk, and then told them, "You all will have to excuse me today. I'm sure I will be a little hyper. You see, I just saw both of Prince's concerts in Atlanta on the 14th and I'm still on a Purple High," and I did a little dance move while I was saying it. Keep in mind, the Director of DHHS was right there! But I wasn't embarrassed. I looked at everyone in the audience and they were all smiling and laughing and enjoying my good mood. The discussion went very well, btw.

The morning of the 21st, I was back to training case managers, started my training that morning by playing a couple of songs that Prince did in Atlanta (Black Sweat and When Will We B Paid - only Black Sweat was the concert version because Prince had released that one). My case managers were singing and dancing along with it. Then we had to get down to business, when the lead team case manager of that office came into the training room. It was unusual for her to come in and interrupt class. This was around 10:00, 10:30, I think. She put her hand on my shoulder and said, "I'm so sorry" as she handed me her phone.

I looked at it, the headline, and I said, "No. No. Absolutely not. No. He's not. And I won't believe it until he says it himself." I almost threw her phone down on the table. I grabbed my phone and walked out of the training room. That's when I noticed all the text messages I had been getting, missed phone calls, emails.

I called out of work for a week. I had just seen him the week before. My mind could not grasp that it would be the last time I'd see him perform, the last time he ever played his music to his fans like that. The last time he ever performed Purple Rain. And I still miss him, these 4 years later.

He was such a huge part of my life, his music was the music of some of the biggest moments of my life. Because of him, I met some of the greatest people, who became my best friends. I lived in The Holy River back in the day. He was the reason I got a computer and logged on to the internet for the first time, because I wanted to know more about him, and an ex-boyfriend told me he was really into the internet. Yeah, I still miss him, too.
