any connections between prince and the harry potter books?

i avoided hp many years -- too popular -- but finally got around to listening to the books and i was impressed. did prince ever make any references in an intereview to any awareness of these books?

i agree with prince comparisons to snape, but i would guess prince to be a ravenclaw, like me smile

the chapter title 'detention with delores' made me think of a certain prince song and i wondered if rowling is a fam. razz

i would guess that prince was not attracted to the books because of the satan-ic and mj-ic associations with 'magic', but to me the books just have great characters and useful relevant underlying lessons to teach, kinda like prince songs do cool .

I don't know if he ever acknowledged the books
But JK Rowling paid tribute to him after his death, I remember she posted the Lovesexy album cover and called him a genius/hero/something similar

and Emma Watson put Raspberry Beret on her playlist years ago

and ofc, Snape & Prince died almost back 2 back confused
Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

I don't remember any Prince references at all in any of the Harry Potter books, or in any of J.K. Rowling's other books or her twitter feed (although I didn't follow her when Prince passed, so I must have missed her posting the Lovesexy album cover).

The timing of this thread is funny, though, because just yesterday my nephew (five years old) asked me "Uncle D, what do we prefer, Prince or Harry Potter?"

I did not notice any at all and I am sure I would have... I read the first 3 more than once and at least once with the audio books and the 4th with the audio book... and the rest i read once but I do not think there was any reference at all to him.

But the book 'It' did... not only is the kid's part set in summer (June and on) 1958 but Prince is mentioned (and not very nicely) in the adult part.

i didnt notice any literal namedrops, but now knowing that jkr acknowleged p, some parts of the books raise flags in my wild imagination lol

thinking back how p would reference movies like avatar, i thought perhaps i might have missed a reference to wizarding name i was unfamiliar with at the time. oh well smile
