"1999" On RuPaul's Drag Race

The bottom two queens lip synced to an abbreviated "1999" on tonight's episode of RuPaul's Drag Race. The whole theme is purple for the runway, and Whoopi Goldberg is the guest judge and coach.

It airs on VH1 tonight and the Vh1 app later.

I do not have cable. I will see if YouTube has some clips. Sounds interesting.

It is a pity that they edited the song like that, maybe if Sherry had stuck to time we`d have got the album version smile

They always edit the LSFYL songs - I was actually surprised how long they spent on the intro, I expect them to cut to the verse way earlier.

I remember that. But it was season 10 with Kameron Michaels vs Miz Cracker, with Cracker eliminated (and her first time in the bottom 2). That was the year of "MISS VANJIE! MISS...VANJIE!"

I love Heidi. I just watched her makeup tutorial this morning (for that makeover disco look). She's so funny.

I'm rooting for Crystal Methyd. She's unusual, quirky, fun. I always find myself rooting for the more unusual queens - Sharon Needles (because honestly it was down to her and Detox, Phi Phi was horrible and a dolt), Sasha Velour, Bianca.

I wonder how they'll deal with _______ for the finale. The rumor was that she does very well in the show, which she has, but my God. THE EDITING! You almost forget she's in the show at all! Harsh!!! (And rightly so.) If she makes it to final 4 or 3, whichever they do, I assume they'll replace her with whoever was behind her.

With All-Stars 5 beginning in June, I feel like they may record the finale in studio among themselves and just let it be what it is. They'll never have time to get an audience together that's safe and film a show. It puts too many folks at risk. They'll have to go old school and keep it in the family.

_______ is out there still making quarantine videos with other queens (Golden Girls spoofs, etc) and going on as if nothing has happened or is happening on TV. Folks won't let her forget it anytime soon.

Speaking of gaffs - Robbie Turner pulled some shit a couple of years ago and has yet to return to any social media. I have no idea if he's still doing drag at all or what. From wikipedia, "In April 2018, Turner claimed to be involved in a fatal Uber accident. She later admitted the incident did not happen, after media outlets noted inconsistencies with her story." The three linked stories are dated February 2019, so a year, at least, he's disappeared. But I think the truth of it all came out before Feb 2019.

The Robbie Turner thing I just found out about last fall, I think. I'm surprised I'd not heard anything before that. The Sherry Pie thing is literally a disclaimer at the beginning of every episode and a FB post by one of his victims.

I actually don't watch the drama channels about drag queens, which is odd because I'm pretty fucking gay. You think it'd be in my wheelhouse. LOL But seriously, I watch a couple of the drama channels about the beauty industry (makeup). But that's sorta it.

I'd agree about season 6. Season 5 found the show starting to get some traction in a different way. Season 4 did with the Phi Phi and Sharon fights, and Latrice Royale, Willam, Chad Michaels, etc. because they were really seasoned people. It felt more grown up. Season 5 really put some heels (!) on it, but season 6 with Bianca, Ben Dela, Milk, Gia, Adore, Courtney - it was offically on fire by the end of that one. The stand-up challenge was one of Bianca's finest moments. And who can ever forget, "I'm feeling really attacked!" by Laganja. LOL

oh i know about miss pie and all but since she's been edited almost into oblivion it's pretty easy
to ignore her.

as far as the earlier seasons go, the untucked episodes added so much, imo. when they changed
the set up for the untucked episodes and had them all togeter in that one huge room, it lost a lot
of it's bitchfest vibes biggrin

the laganja shenanigans still crack me up lol and phi phi in untucked was so damn harsh falloff
and who could forget the whole judy jetson hooker drink throwing incident lol

I noticed that after untucked, it said "3 queens remain." And since it's now public that the reunion and finale have been taped virtually, I guess my theory about final 4 is untrue now. It's probably just easier.

I agree about untucked. That big room, etc., seems to take some life out of it all. Long gone are the days of the Interior Illusions Lounge, or the Absolut whatever.

Laganja was just out of her mind, but in a fun way. Phi Phi is a mean girl. She thinks she was god's gift to pads and breastplates, then came back saying she's grown, and pulled the same shit, got caught (queue face crack of the century!), then blamed it on editing. She has me blocked on Twitter (get in line, girl). haha

Love Jaida revealing that short hair wig underneath. That sealed the win for her. Looking forward to the finale. I’ll be happy with any of the 3 queens winning but rooting for Crystal, though she’s a long shot.
