Yeah I guess it's just sinking in for RD. But even all of P's associates from back in the day state that he was always a bit of a prude... that the outrageousness was a bit contrived. To a degree the shock was schtick. People grow and look back at things they did in the past sometimes with pride, other times with embarrassment, shame, or ambivalence.
