The songs and stuff you all are talking about were so long ago.
As far as blueangel goes, we were all in there and an administrator comes in says he would like to try something to test out for the Nikki chat on Friday and asked everyone if that was ok, everyone said ok sure, he asked if we could take turns asking a question in the order that our names were on the right. Everyone says yes and starts, then blueangel out of turn says something something F*U*C*K. Not only was the word rude but it was rude to everyone going out of turn like that. He got bounced, he could have came right back in with no trouble...and he did but then he calls us all a name and says fuck again.
Come on people we all know Prince is odd, we all know he don't curse anymore deal with or stay here and act like a child and cry every time you can't say "shit" or get something you want want want... or think you SHOULD have like 90% of you do anyway.

Yeah I think it is ridiculous, I agree... but it is his site, so it is his rules. Gotta respect his right to have his own website run as he sees fit.

We have the choice of putting up with those rules or else of going elsewhere. For this reason, I suspect most people will stick with their current Prince discussion forum of choice (Prince.org, Princefams.com, Housequake.com, AMP etc) and NPGMC will just be the place you go when you want to download new videos or MP3s.

Im not saying it isn't anyones right to do what they will with their own site..Im saying it's a 180 from his original manifesto of being free, being shocking, cursing, sexual outrageousness etc...a comeplete 180. Maturity is part of the picture and I respect that. I just think its funny though..hilarious and ridiculous. That the man who did the Dirty Mind tour ends up with seemingly conservative stance. Thats why I said "if you think about it" its funny. Karazy even. Phuckin Prince smile

Nobody is taking about any of that, at least me..I talking about how it's a 180..how when you were singing Head etc that it would come to this..who would have thought back then that Prince of all people was going to have no cussing. No harm no foul..not saying he cant do what he wants but its a trip.

Thank you for gathering my thoughts for me on this so eloquently. I know I have been a big complainer about P and the whole JW thing, but it is more like you describe. I have been picking my brain trying to figure out where the transformation took place. On the website two years ago, we had Geneva grinding on a bed while P sang Hot Wit U in the background. It used to be cool to be who and what you were but it ain't no mo'.

I see it, quite simply, as that is where his evolution has taken him.

I think we all let things go in life that don't give us any pleasure anymore. Mine have been nightclubs and drugs - haven't done drugs for 6 years now, and haven't been to a club for about a year - they bore me! So I've just let it go.

I really don't think it is any biggie. Maybe it has more to do with a dissapointment of the listener, that you're not getting what you want to hear from him. If so, that's just too bad!

Didn't you people expect that? To me, it was clear that the chat would be censored. It was like that when they had the chats at the former editions of the club.

So, is yours just an observation then? I am assuming that you don't like the music anymore, as you have written above 'Yeah but you still like the music don't you?' Do you have an emotional response to no longer liking his music, of course, that is, if you don't like his music? Maybe you don't feel dissapointment. Sounds like you're not hearing what you'd like to hear from him.

Mine is an observaton. I have for the most part enjoyed his output recently...and I have stated so ever so loudly and boisterously..but that doesn't mean I cant call something as I see it. I think I've earned the right to do that.

Why is it a problem? People have philosophical changes in their lives sometimes. Malcolm X - one of Prince's heroes - is a great example of a black man that changed himself and realized greatness.

I suppose, just as I assumed there may have been a problem with it, by the title of your thread 'this is ridiculous' - doesn't really suggest that you look favourably on this change.

I suppose if this thread was titled 'Have you noticed?' that would say something very different.

As for the 180 degree turnaround... come on, it's hardly overnight smile We are talking about a 20-year time difference... find me anyone that doesn't change their outlook on things somewhat between being a naive 20-something and bitter 40-something smile

Admittedly though, if you listen to Dirty Mind and then The Rainbow Children, the transition seems instantaneous (or at least as fast as you can swap the disks in your CD player) razz smile
