visit to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Prince Last weekend I was in Cleveland, Ohio, for my daughter's dance convention (she is a serious dancer). I miraculously managed to sneak in a 2 and 1/2 hour visit to the museum. I was really happy to see all the Prince memorabilia in there! There were some Prince displays, and items donated by the Estate such as the Love Symbol guitar, a baroque-patterned suit, the white suit he wore to his induction in 2004, the Model C guitar. I also watched a cool 12-minute video, with surround sound and light effects, that highlighted all the musical greats that had been inducted. While you only saw snippets of the other performances, to my glee, the video ended with none other than our Prince, and his crushing guitar solo for "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"- in its ~6 minute entirety. Amazing, considering the other musicians highlighted were also major greats. On my way out, I stopped in the gift shop, whose entrance had a floor to ceiling picture of Prince. I bought a very cool 'offically licensed' Parade T-shirt (of the Parade album cover), with Prince's signature on the back. When I went to try it on in the fitting room, there was a gigantic framed picture of Prince Ok so it wasn't Paisley Park but I'm so happy I had the chance to visit this very fun and entertaining museum, and it made me proud to see Prince so well-represented there I was trying to upload all of my Prince pictures but it's practically impossible to do this on here...(I've read all the FAQs; is Photobucket the only way?? I used to use tinypic but they're out of business..)

So awesome that they have more than when I was there a couple years ago! He was definitely well represented in the gift shop but other than that there was one small display and a display of the suit he wore during that infamous guitar solo. I've been to the RRHOF twice, loved it both times. Sounds like a third trip is in order!

I hope you’ll all get the chance to visit. I had a great time and could’ve spent much more, but the museum was closing and I had to get back to my kid...Too bad I can’t upload all my pictures. I highly recommend a visit, especially if you’re a music lover.

i was there last April and i was surprised by the lack of Prince stuff. A small display with a glove and a letter or something. However, everyone kept telling me to check out the auditoriam. The vide in there theatre had 30 sec clips of many many artists who'd played the RRHOF shows over decades. What was most thrilling was that they ended the show with Prince's ENTIRE solo from While My Guitar Gently Weeps. What is better is that they used diff camera angles - not shown on the Youtube vid we have all seen to death - instead they used more angles. When they zoom back and you see that he was quite literally 180 degrees flat out on his back when his body guard held him up, I was astonished....then the vid ends with him throwing the guitar up!

I think the exhibit ends this summer, at least that's what the ad said in Rolling Stone magazine.

Bsprout! You just exactly described my own visit on Feb. 28th! Wasn't it awesome?? Given the sheer number of great musicians honored there, I was very happy with how much Prince memorabilia there was. Seemed like something around every corner. Must be a lot of new stuff.
Of course I was wearing a Prince t-shirt, and the staff seemed delighted to answer questions and direct me to anything I might've missed. The young guy ushering people out of the theater said he loves talking to Prince fans because they're so knowledgeable about him and music in general. We had a great discussion about Prince versus Beatles bootleg culture. He mentioned how many people walk out of the theater remarking that they didn't know Prince played guitar. While that totally blows my mind (what on earth did they think he did??) at least the movie is giving them an amazing taste of his skills Gotta love the pic in the dressing room right? I've never undressed in front of Prince before. At least he was politely looking down at his guitar... [Edited 3/9/20 17:31pm] And the MUSIC continues...forever...

Yes! It was so impressionable that that they played the whole thing, considering they give everyone else a short clip. I missed the glove and the letter. I was rushing to visit all the floors...there are at least 5.

I can’t properly describe how amazing that video was, ending with the entire Prince solo. I could feel the music in my chest and was grinning from ear to ear. The song continued playing even after the movie ended and you’re released through a winding black tunnel lined with music memorabilia, including his induction outfit. The dressing room was the icing on the cake. Of course Prince should be in there, lol. I took a selfie.

Thanks. Before I posted I checked if there were other threads about it and couldn’t find any. I was surprised how many Clevelanders were dumping on their city. I dunno, I admittedly didn’t get to see much but it had its charms.
