How far have you gone for Prince?

I just spoke to someone on another message board and they said they postponed their honeymoon so that they could go and see a Prince gig!!

The furthest I went was to pull out of a 3 month stint as a Summer camp counsellor in America because Prince was playing ONE night at Wembley Stadium in '93!

Anyone else?

1:Had tickets for the cancelled UK SOTT Wembley arena gig and then was told that it was to be held at Blenheim Palace. I skipped work took the train to London and stood in the pouring rain to exchange, week later the Blenheim gig was cancelled.

2: Came back from hols a day early to get to a concert.

3: Stood listening to the repeated Live 4 Love Coke\Pepsi..!! advert music for three hours at the Wembley Stadium gig.

4:Went to the Dominion London for a aftershow, waited until 3 am and P didn't't show

Would I do it all again...

Yes

Stayed up till 3am in Vegas to make a hugely expensive hotel room call to Ticketmaster in the UK for tickets to ONA.

Travelled to London from Glasgow for the same gig.

Doesn't really compare to the honeymoon story though.

Ditto to what Calhoun Square stated.
In addition I sent my husband out of state to go to a ticketmaster to be first on line for tix and made him get me tix for ONA(even though my hubby was not attending---I went with cousins instead). lol

I walked out of a job because they wouldn't let me have time off to see Prince.

In hindesight, I was fully justified in doing so, I walked into another job and had a fantastic time saw two shows and an aftershow smile

I've spent thousands of dollars since 1981. At a Prince convention I dropped $3000 in 10 min.

I just spent a lot of time hoping things fall into place so I'd be able to see a show, go to a Celebration, etc.

Nothing very outrageous or extreme, I guess..

Are you talking about Camp America?? I work for them! I'm off to camp in a couple of weeks actually.

I was at that Wembley gig and it must have been worth staying home for nod

The furthest I have gone for Prince, would be to do the opposite of what you done, my "Tottingham" supporting friend. I went to camp in 2000 from London and went up to Detroit to visit an orger after camp (Hi Mauve! wave ). We went up to Paisley Park for two weekends in a row (where we stayed with another orger (Hi Cookie! wave )

I drove from Denver to Chicago to see him at the United Center back in 98 (I think). I was worried he wouldn't come to Denver so I made sure I saw him. It was about 2,000 miles and a carton of cigarettes, roundtrip.

Would taking a Greyhound bus without a shower for 2 1/2 days all the way to Minneapolis from Cali for a Controversy convention count as far? I can back it up with the same distance the following year on a plane though...Shitty thing was he wouldn't perform for the fans back then but he wasn't obligated...It was an experience...

flew from atlanta to minneapolis for the 12/18/99 rave un2 the year 2000 pay per view show,

flew from atlanta to minneapolis for the 2001 and 2002 celebrations,

drove from atlanta to memphis for 1997 jam of the year show and aftershow

drove from atlanta to greensboro, north carolina for 1997 jam of the year show,

drove from atlanta to charlotte, north carolina for a 2000 hit and run show,

Hmm, putting off your honeymoon is serious nod
I sat in line for tickets to the Lovesexy show in '88 in my 9th month of pregnancy (mind u my best friend and I slept in the parking lot outside the ticket place overnite) I was 3rd in line and sat on big pillows I bought from home, then I drove myself and best friend to the show and went into labor towards the middle of the show... stayed until the end of the show, drove back home and gave birth the next evening...hehehehe rainbow

peace and pray

NOW IS THAT DEDICATION OR WHAT? lol
