Judas smile - who is it about Who was Judas smile written about? Was just thinking about my favourite prince songs and this really bugged me. Who is the Judas? All these years I never thought to consider. Such a great track, I have fond memories of sitting up after midnight after purchasing it on The old npgmc and manually converting it into a format I could use on my MP3 player 😊 how the world has changed. Verse 1 and 2 sound like they're about Mayte.
She was nothing before Prince, she will be nothing after Prince, he made up the world she believed in then tried to switch it up (if you believe Mayte, he was pushing her to be more nasty when he was flirting with JW and she didn't want to go that way), he changed her name to Arabia (?), he changed his name to the Symbol, she took his money with a judas smile, he'll keep being Prince, she'll keep being nothing nobody wants to associate with.
She also had blonde streaks when she was with Tommy Lee. | |

Indeed. "I changed your name, it didn't suit you. I did the same for a little while. I gave you love, a little revenue. In return a Judas Smile you gave me". Same theme as the Eye Hate U remix. The main verses in "Judas Smile" before the changeup are direct references to her - in response to the infamous scene in "Scary Movie" and her subsequent playing down of their relationship.

The song does seem to be aimed mainly at a male musician.
