I believe Prince wanted monogamy, but was perhaps way too idealistic. He had a vision of perfection in his head and inevitably every woman would eventually fall short. Then the search for the perfect woman/muse/counterpart would begin again. Plus, when you're in his position and the options are virtually unlimited, you feell as if there's always someone at your fingertips who's prettier, less disagreeable, more passionate, whatever.

Of course, there are some people here who use a completely different kind of numeric system, and those people will try to tell you that 1 + 1 = 3. Would you be surprised if one of those people also believed that "The One" means something besides 1?

come on now it is a light hearted topic about how he leaves a excape clause... and he does. That is basic logic...

"I will never cheat on you and then brag about it." Allows one to cheat as long as they do not ALSO brag.

"I will not have 10 woman and confuse that with my wealth" So he could have 10 woman and as long as he does confuse it with his wealth he has kept his word.....

As long as he give her first crack at geting down... even if he goes to someone else....he is good.

And again no need to bring in other drama... as one other has.

It is amazing how many different things people can interpret into seemingly straightforward statements. Not to say that ANYONE is wrong. These bars being debated were completely straightforward to me. Oh well. Just goes to show how easy miscommunication is...

In each instance (and overall) he's saying that he's the one that will treat "his woman" like a queen. He'll buy her whatever she wants and he'll do everything she wants that pleases her. Pretty straightforward bragadocious r&b lyrics IMHO... in the vein of Babyface (Soon As I Come Home From Work)...
