Black Sweat~Sticky Like Glue ~1000 O&Xs I have a playlist that I work to in My studio...these three songs play one after the other... Today I was struck by how flipping fabulous they are and how even towards the end Prince was creating unique Grooves.. Sometimes I think the Purple Rain Stigma, casts a shadow over princes Later work some of which is equally as brilliant In my Dreams I have seen the Estate re releasing some of Princes Newer and Crushing tunes, under a subtle Artistic nom de plume....perhaps creating a little bit of hype by formulating a fictitious but interesting story about said Artist..and watching what happens... Yes I know Prince Fans will immediately recognise the reality, but wouldnt it be fun to see one or two of his songs rise to the top unassisted by his Famous Name....?
It pisses me off that a lot of Music we hear from new Artists these days is largely tech assisted and kind of uninventive..

All nice tracks. I will have to listen to them together later on. It's true Prince's competition was "me in the past" and that often caused him to get dismissed by his biggest fans.

"Sticky Like Glue" is as good a song,
as ANY of Prince's classic hits from his "golden era" i get chills from the Al McKay (Earth, Wind&Fire) style rhythm guitar licks Prince is playing on that joint... and shelby j and them on the background vocals is killin it [Edited 2/4/20 12:03pm]

I'd agree with the uniqueness of the last two but Black Sweat is essentially Hollaback Girl with a male vocal. Check out The Collector's Guide to Prince on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/p...4ldzxwlEuy

I've said it before, Black Sweat doesn't get enough credit even if it is just a party jam.

I'm actually a HUGE fan of Prince's((r.i.p.) post 90's on up muziq that to me is just as good as his 80's period. It shows how he evolved as an artist. Prince(r.i.p.) was still creating new grooves until the end. Which is why he still had his last hit single with "1000 X's & O's" in 2005 just barely months b 4 he transiioned. BTW: " Black Sweat" would have been a hit if Oprah didn't cancel his appearance on her show to promote his 3121 perfume.
